So I have read 30 some pages of threads on this topic but I cannot find one specific to my thoughts and ideas. If it was covered please just shake your head and point me to the door.

I picked up 5100's for the front and was going to initially install them at the 2.5" mark and then ad the 1.5" Daystar spacer in the back. I somehow ended up with the wrong daystar kit, one for the FJ. Regardless, I am now considering just upgrading the springs in the back to either the Icon 2" or the OME 2" and leaving the stock rear shocks for now. I get it that I will still have some what of a front rake. If numbers come out simple I would be taking away .5" and that would be fine I guess.

Anyone running this setup? 5100's upfront @ 2.5" with stock springs and OME or Icon springs with stock shocks in the back?

Why not just pick up a set of rear 5100's? You can get them for like $180 for a pair. Get a set of 5100's for the rear and Wheelers T13 rear coils. That way you have matched fronts and rears. Do it once and do it right, don't half ass it.

Do it once and do it right. I am doing mine a 2nd time.

I went the Icon route after no help from Toytec besides them selling me a replacement for $135 and I pay return shipping in hopes that Bilstein warranties it.
I tried to work with them to get me into an Icon system and basically got told to get bent. Kinda like my 5 month old Bilstein when I was 1k miles from home. Lol

Adding 5100's to the rear seems to make sense. I haven't heard of the Wheelers T13 coils, I'll look into those. As far as my reasoning (which I was justifying), I didn't want to just go spacers and do the cheapest route and I did not want a $3000 suspension upgrade. I figured this was a good happy medium...

you'll be fine with 2.5 in the front and 2 in the rear. I have the bilstein 6112's in front and 5160's in the rear with Icon 2" rear coils. Check my garage link for part numbers.

It will drive like shit at highway speeds, until you get some UCAs and get an alignment for max caster. Try to get as close to +4 as possible.
fordracing19, were yiu using limit straps on your rears?

That is a front. No I did not have limit straps on the rear.

I have problems overextending OEM shocks with only the +1.5" Daystar spacer (loud "bump" from the rear going over speed humps and such). It would be much worse running +2-2.5" springs.

Wheeler T13's should be exactly the same as OEM springs plus 1.5" spacers. That's about the max you should do with OEM shocks, and even that isn't recommended if you are planning on much off-road driving.

The reason people are saying upgrade to 5100's in the rear is for the extra extension.

Good to know, I appreciate the insight. After hearing some of this, I may just unload the 5100's and go with Icon stage 1.

I didn't have a great experience with them either when I was having a issue with my rubber spring damper. Seems like once they had my money for the purchase they didn't want to help my again unless I spent more money with them.
