Not my month (more problems) Help please

3rd gen king

alright guys, my abs light comes on as soon as a start my truck along with my battery light, like when your batt is lacking in voltage and stays on! And when it's feeling froggy my airbag light comes on too, do I have an electrical demon?
(no mice, I have a mini schnauzer who kills anything that moves)

What it does on start:
Usual lights
Then
Abs comes in and the battery light begins to flicker then stays on

Attempted solutions
Ripped out alt and took it to autozone and the tested it and it passed 3 times
(I also removed the positive post while my rig was on and it kept going)

Batt is 1 week old (I swapped it in an attempt to fix prob)
New positive post since it was corroded as ****

And the fluid in brake res. is topped off

Any suggestions Please! I'm just siting here fu&$ing dumbfounded bc I just can figure it out

OH I also checked the ground wires and it was loose and I replaced it but it was grounded twice in that one spot (Hellas) so that couldnt be the prob

:,( anything would be appreciated guys

Hi,

you will probably get a response if you post a thread that specifically states what is wrong (a,b,c,d) and what the history is.

Also, do not put the information in a video link, just state it in clear text. I can only speak for myself but I have no desire to just click on a video.

good luck.

Guess if it was my truck I would check voltage coming out of the alternator. If anything less than 12v I would replace it. Or at least take it out and have the autoparts store machine of death test it. Would also check the ground wires. The one on the drivers side to the block of the engine is a good place to start.

I didn't click on the link either since I'm on my phone. ABS light could be a lot of different things, but do you have plenty of brake fluid in the reservoir? And definitely take your truck to the auto parts store to test your battery and alternator.

I tried viewing the video, no luck "...error occured, try again later". Perhaps you could just state your problem here. Wanted to try and help. Good Luck,

:wtf:

All indications (bad pun) point right back to the alternator. These systems are quite voltage sensitive. Sounds like you've already checked everything i'd think of myself.

Did they check:

Ripple? Under load?

Try to have it retested somewhere else if possible, some places are more thorough than others.

Let us know what you find. Good luck,

Will do, and I've done some lurking on yotatech and some guys with a 1 gen often have a problem like this, they replae the "brushes" in the alt along with the volt regulator o.O but that's beyond me .. I think

Tomorrow I'm going to see if I can do the brush stuff, if not I'll be doing the Chevy alt upgrade

Just a friendly FYI, low brake fluid will not trip an ABS light. It will illuminate the "brake" light only.

Helpin out

How can you be king of the 3rd gens when you can't rule over your own! lol. Have you had any brake work done before the prob arrose?

Yeah I know I just have no clue what to do lol and someone asked about the fluid

Lol it my name wasnt for t4rs but my brake booster went out and I replaced it (with it messed up I didn't get the abs light)

NOW MY CEL IS ONE, expection expired yesterday -_- just poop

Check your grounds behind the dash. Two many lights to be other wise.

When I get up high in the revs the batt light cuts off. I'm beginning to think its my alt for sure and their tests aren't efficient enough for a failing alt but only for an alt that has failed completely (no charge at all) ya think?

That sounds like brushes. You should go to an autoparts store for a free alternator check.

I think my truck is high because it's definelty trippin!

Alright guys, I think I figured out the problem,

So I was RETESTING and removed the post from the batt and my radio cut off
O.o idk why but then it reset... While it was off the batter light was FLICKERING but stayed off half the time.

It has to be some **** associated with that alt, so in 10 mins I'll be dropping in a borrowed alt.. (long story, and no it's not stolen)
