Not your average vacuum thread

First, let me explain the need: I have a 2.5 yr old Aussie Shepherd (red merle for any Aussie owners) and I love the dude to death but his hair is ridiculous. And he's in my car everyday. And I'm in food manufacturing. So hair all over my clothes is no bueno.

Do you see where I'm going with this yet?

If not, let me show you the inspiration

Get the picture now? Genius! A built in vacuum! A) Why doesn't every SUV already have this? And B) Why the hell didn't I think of it before Honda?

Well regardless, now I want one. And I'm beginning to kick around a plan of action.

Any thoughts on taking this:

and putting it somewhere in the cargo area? In the floor maybe? Does anyone know how much room in the cargo area floors there is? Room to stuff one of these puppies? Or perhaps mount it under the car and do some custom duct work for an inlet inside the cargo area?

I know, I know. I could just carry around a little mini shop vac or dirt devil and call it a day. But what fun is that?

Oh, and btw, here's my guy

It's a brilliant idea and I bet there will be aftermarket rigs available soon. Your idea would probably work well with a power inverter. Do a mod thread with pictures!

I have a black lab. Eventually you adapt and wear a lot of black clothes.

When I saw the Honda minivan ad I joked that they need a way to clamp the hose next to a booster seat; to suck up the mess directly from where it falls.

That would be awesome for road trips too!

my tundra has leather seats so it is nice because my dogs hair just slides off, but in the 4runner the hair gets stuck in the seats. So when I take my 4runner I put a towel over my seat cover so I can just take it out and not have to vacuum after every trip!

This is my girl

This is unlike her, but this is after playing on the horse farm for a few days in a row!

What about one of those small Dyson vacuums hard mounted in the cubby with ducting and a power inverter next to it for power and auxiliary power for anything else

Sweet dog thread. That's a nice lookin' Aussie Shepherd. Them's is good dogs. They do make a lot of hair, though. Try a dachshund, they don't shed unless ya freak them out, kinda like a puffer fish -
