NW Overland Rally 6/23-6/26

Anyone taking their 4Runner to the event?

I'll be heading out with my "Recon" teardrop and take it on the trails and see what the limits are. Hopefully, not find out the hard way! There are several classes to take during the entire weekend and a bunch of other things to do. It'll be my first time and I've heard nothing but great things about the event.

Funny you should ask. I just found about the rally today and am considering going. Need to check vacation schedules at work and with my wife, but there's a strong possibility we'll be coming if we're free.

Later this summer, we're planning on doing some of the Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route, so this would be a good lead-in to that.

swanny, same situation here. My wife is also limited on vacation time due to a job change. I can't leave her behind though, she's my navigator! lol :roll:

Bummer! She's mine too. I was hoping to get her out there so she could be more comfortable driving the mountains too. She hates washboard and having to look down over the edge of the roads that we have all throughout the Cascades with their long deep valleys.

My wife feels the same way, especially the drop-offs, but we're working on that. Trying to break her in gently. I got her to watch the Expedition Overland (propaganda... haha) series together, which she loved, so she's very motivated to go.

I spoke with her last night and it's looking pretty good for us to come to the expo. :thumb:

Just wanted to bump this up and see if anyone is planning on going. [MENTION=78318]RiDE[/MENTION] and I will probably head up early Thursday and see who else we can tag along with. If anyone wants to camp next to each other, you have to arrive at the same time.

Hi Duc,

I'm working on it. My wife and I just took a vacation (later than we'd originally planned), so it may be a challenge to schedule a 2nd one so soon (maybe more so for her than me). I should have a better idea by the end of this week, next Monday at the latest. Will post back once I have a definitive answer. Would be great to caravan up with some other T4R members.

We are meeting a few Taco folks at the Monroe Safeway off HWY 2 at 10am on Thursday. Not sure which route you're taking up and when you plan on getting there but that is our plan. You're welcome to join, we'd look extra cool rolling in with you.

Cool. I'll probably start a separate caravan thread so we can get as many people together as possible. From what I understand, if you want to camp next to the people you want to be near, you have to roll in together. It would be cool to get all the Toyota guys together.

Sorry for the tardy reply. My wife and I tried to get some time off for the rally, but too close to our last vacation and too many co-workers take their vacations are going to prevent our attendance this year. Bummer. Glad to see there are some others headed up though. Hopefully next year, with some better planning on our part. Hope you all have a great time.

Saw on the Instagram that you were in Cle Elum last night. We're about to head out to meet some people and then head over there. Should be there around 12-1230 so hopefully we can camp near each other. Should be able to I would think since that's when the gates open pretty much.
