Depends if the sensor is upstream before the catalytic converter or downstream after the catalytic converter.
A wide band 02 sensor is also known as an air/fuel ratio sensor and in some setups a wideband sensor exists before the cat while a narrow band is installed after the cat. The downstream sensor is not critical to vehicle efficiency the purpose of the downstream sensor is there to monitor the efficiency of the cat.
