o2 sensor

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if it would be easy to relocate the o2 sensor in my tailpipe. I have a 3rd gen and need to take an additional inch or so off whats left of my tailpipe to make way for a new muffler and tailpipe. If anyone has information on this subject the main things i would like to know are:

1. How much would a new sensor cost?( I might as well replace it if i have it out)
2. Additional materials and price?
3. Tools required?
4. And pros/cons?
   And are some sensors better than others?
