Obd2 code reader question

My scanguage always reads not ready and my other obd2 code reader has red, yellow and green indicators for the smog system status and it is always indicating yellow standby never green ready.

What could this indicate? It passed smog last year and has a new Evap canister.

Im not sure, but the only thing that comes to mind is have you reset ECU or unhooked battery for any install lately?

Sometimes it takes a LONG time to reset. I'm on 160 miles after a battery disconnect and still not ready, and that includes freeway driving.

The EVAP and the Cat monitors seem to take the longest to set. For me my EVAP not setting for 2 months ended up being a bad gas cap.

I don't think that the EVAP will test when it's really cold out. I know my Saturn won't test EVAP until temps are above 40 degrees.

Registration came in and had to get my truck smog tested. Scan gauge read not ready when I dropped it off but smog station owner said his computer said everything was ready when he tested it and it passed. Plugged the scan gauge back in this morning and it read ready *

Does Scanguage breakdown the different emission items into Ready/Not Ready as Torque does or is the Ready/Not Ready across the board?

Texas cities that test for smog (only the big ones do) allow 1 emission item to be in Not Ready status - your choice of which. :cowboy:

The ScanGauge I have is just a generic ready-not ready.

In my state my 97 is allowed 2 readiness monitors to not be set. My 04 grand Cherokee is allowed 1 readiness monitor to not be set.

When I needed to pass smog I had to put on roughly 500 miles to get the monitors to reset on my previous 97.
