October Camping Trip #5- THE COVE!!!

If anyone wants a set of 3/2" cornfed spacers I'll part with them for $100 at the Cove. Also I have a stock trail fuel tank skid I'll part with for $50. Let me know by Thursday and I'll bring them along.

Also I'll bring Carista who I'll pimp out for shots!

Whatever happens don't let Antman have you drag a broken shock for a couple miles before you figure out its broken....ha!

As they say in the Army "buddy is only half a word". The other is not appropriate for this forum.

In Jeff's defense I was riding shotgun and the shock wasn't hanging out, just the stick that ruined the shock!

All I could see when you were dragging that branch were visions of Venison Steaks in my head...

I am trying to get a little clearer picture of the dinner event on Saturday. The way I am reading it is that the main meal (burgers, dogs, etc) is being provided, which is awesome by the way, and we should bring pot luck style sides for the group? I just wasn't sure weather to plan to bring a side for me and my buddy, or many more people.

Scott@Hightech Should have the details.

Looks like another successful and fun outing for you guys on the east coast. I'm glad Scott@Hightech is going to be there representing his new shop and taking care of you guys as usual!

Miss the fun!

I might still make carne asada. Y'all get to taste my meat.

I would take you up on that offer. We are still getting comfortable in the off-road realm. I've done the 101 at Rausch Creek and a Green guided ride.

I def don't mind pushing things that would allow me to learn. I would however like to avoid having to walk home alone because I couldn't keep up...[/QUOT

Others should PM me to join the noob ride. Easier trails, slow pace, spotters to reduce your chance of pin stripes and running board damage, etc. I have a CB and will need one more with a CB. Plan to meet in the open field between the showers and camp 2 for an ops check at 10, depart at 1100 or sooner. Can i get scott@hightech to join? Understand this is way below your skill level but at least you know how to get the big branch unstuck after Antman lets me run over it.

Just got word from phillyd2 that he is donating a $50 gift card to the pumpkin carving contest! If Dave doesn't make it, I'll need the winners Email address for the prize (in case I forget)

Sweet- thanks Dave!!

I already nominated Scott as another trail leader so you can't have him. Lol.

Lol yall want maps!!! HA ive come every year and been a trail guide with nothing more than the map on the first page. Haven't lost anyone yet, although i did make a "few" miscalculations on a few occasions. You really just need a compass

I will lead a group but understand this, I dont plan anything, it is what it is and where ever we go is where we end up, i will get you back home though. bring food and drinks for the day( pack your lunch)

We are bringing burgers and hot dogs, along with buns and some basic condiments. Still working on a grill situation. if anyone has or can bring an extra grill that would be very much appreciated. Also Ill need some help cooking i'm a terrible Grill master.

Also who ever was talking about the night photography PM me and i will give you my phone number, i can probably be able to best help you but not VIA typing. I can call you tonight or tomorrow.

I can bring a Coleman roadtrip LXX grill, it's not full size but it's bigger than most camp grills.

sweet, that helps, Thank you.

PSA:

Also i feel like it needs to be said this day in age.( i'm not trying to be a dick) We are going to costco to get burgers and dogs and cheese. Whatever they sell in large quantities is what we will have. I realize this wont work for everyone as some people have different dietary needs. If your one of those people, please don't be upset but just plan on preparing your own meal. If you want something cooked a different way, thats fine ill just hand your the spatula and let you have at it( im a terrible chef, did i mention that yet? lol) This has never been an issue before and i haven't heard any complaints but we are also dealing with twice the number of people as well.

We will bring some plasticware and plates as well.

......spotters to reduce your chance of pin stripes ......

You know damn well that won't happen unless they are wielding hedge trimmers, lol.

Even the Overlook "trail" will earn you lots of pinstripes at The Cove.

Everybody's gettin' striped!:scared:

This is the Overlook Trail (re-post from page#1) up the "hard way" from the rifle range access trail, to the top, and back down the main trail. 2X speed (bad music but I can't figure out how to link good music from youtube, lol)

You mean there will not be a free range vegan gluten free paleo shadow free option provided??? The outrage!

I'm kidding, I don't think people will get bent out of shape... it is a potluck right? I'm probably making carne asada and my wife may make chilli. Like Skeeter I'm bringing a Coleman LXE.

Can't wait to meet everyone!
