im bringing some give away stuff for the pumpkin carving contest and such. plan is everyone should be able to walk away with something at least.
ive also got a bunch or random assorted stickers and such that everyone is more than welcome to partake in.
Im bringing a few items from the store, but don't expect a full spread, 1000lbs of product doesn't handle too well on the trail ;-)
let me know if there is anything else I need to bring for anyone.

Antman can I judge the pumpkins? I'm hate carving, but I like drinking and judging.
Here is my preliminary itinerary for trail rides I'll be leading. Nothing is set in stone.
Friday 2pm- line up and roll out back to camp by 5ish?
Saturday 9am- lineup and roll out back to camp by noon
Saturday 1pm- lineup and roll out back by 4pm for photo shoot
Sunday 10am- lineup roll out back by noon. Mainly a photo shoot run hitting any cool areas we came across the past couple days.
I would ask everyone who tags along with me to have slidders, mainly because I don't want to feel bad if you **** up your rig.
Just like Scott I have limited experience on the trails at the Cove so we might come across obstacles that some or all of us can't pass. Im not planning doing anything crazy and I don't want to break anything but if you don't have slidders you might not want to come me with me. Group trail rides are a team event and the goal is to have fun and learn. I'll have most of my camera gear with me and my drone.

1. Drivers don't be drunk
2. Help everyone
3. Blame all issues on Antman
4. Don't be a *******

You may want to allow more than 3 hours due to getting lost, stuck though. Nothing is ever cut and dry at The Cove... I wouldn't cut it too close for the group photo. People get PISSED every year when they miss it- hence the time schedule.
You can judge the pumpkins as long as you aren't around to see who carves what. Gotta be impartial ya know.
I will post details and reminders tomorrow for everyone- I have "flyers" printed for The Cove staff to give to everyone when they arrive too.
Just so you guys know- Once I get there I'm on vaca- don't ***** at me about this and that or I might just go apeshit on ya. FYI
I been super stressed and NEED this vaca! lol

We are heading out this morning, I'm a bit ambitious and want to hit up Jamestown and the Capitol and air and space museum before we get up there Friday.
I'm so excited for tomorrow!

Thanks again for putting this together (you rock). I look forward to this trip every year now and talk about it for months before and after.
If you need any help doing anything, let me know. We should be there around 2:30/3pm tomorrow... plans are to leave Abingdon at 12.
I will attempt to bring a pumpkin to carve... as you so eloquently put in your text message to me. lol. "You're carving an f'n pumpkin!"
Last.... Sunset is at 6:15pm.... Can we push back the photo shoot to 5:30 to give folks plenty of time to get off the trails? By then it will be getting close to dusk and they all should be heading back to camp. Lighting will be better closer to dusk anyway. This gives a buffer for those trying to be off trails by 4pm as well.
We are down to one vehicle right now so I will try (no promises) to control my "skinny pedal" urges on the trail and try not to get stuck (hahaha... who am I kidding). Hubby's motor in the EVO is done after road track racing it for a year. Time to get a trailer and a third vehicle (daily driver).
I think that's it.... my phone doesn't work once we get close... so we'll see you tomorrow with [MENTION=132027]OneGreenTaco[/MENTION] and our friends with a brand new Rubicon (prior wheeling experience... new Jeep "GatorJeep").

Don't worry. You didn't really break anything last year...and we all know Toyotas are tougher than Mitsusushis anyway, besides...worse case, we can work out a loaner program.
Jeff, if we have to rope you off and have a bouncer check IDs before seeing you then that can be arranged. No doubt much love and appreciation for the efforts. There will be many hands to help make light work....task folks out and relax if it comes to that.
No one scare the noobs. None of us want to see carnage. If YOU aren't comfortable with whatever it is, don't do it. Ego's and pride have destroyed more vehicles and parts, than can be counted. Nothing to prove to anyone. Everyone makes it back to BS around the fire each night is much more important. Consider ride alongs as well. Should be plenty of seats. I know my rig, my wallet, and the distance to my driveway. Suggest everyone consider the same.

I've got some maps done. Not great...far better than what we've had. I put as much info as I could find from all maps (5 different sources) onto the first one. Should be accurate (Lat/Long). I put ??? places I have no info on. Hopefully folks will help fill in the blanks. The second map is the cartoon version, not drawn to scale, but does have a lot of the info on it and is less "busy"
I have the raw ppt I used to make these as well as jpeg, but both are too large to upload here. I made these to print on legal size (8.5"x14")
I did print 15 copies to bring.
Carlos, this should work to make a overlay and help get this rasterized. Maybe we can have this on phones soon.

* Stop by the Camp Office- do not drive past without going in (hence the STOP sign, lol). I will have information sheets on the counter for the staff to distribute. Please take a minute to read it!
* You will pay based on nights stay, days on the trail, and rifle range use.
* We are in camp 2 sites 21-31, unless the staff directs you elsewhere.
* Group photo time has been changed to 5:30 pm SHARP Saturday in the big field next to camp.
* Pumpkin carving contest Saturday night 6:30-8:30pm- bring a pumpkin. We have 2 prizes so far (Thanks John and Dave!). If you have anything to donate for a prize let me know! I have 1st through 3rd ribbons...
* Potluck dinner Saturday night in camp- bring something (Thanks Scott!)
* We have $100 worth of firewood to start (thanks Dave!) (won't go far with this many people- so share nicely) . You can buy more at the office, along with ice, etc.
* Be mindful of your space! We should have plenty of room, but not everyone will have a picnic table this time around...
* The weather looks incredible- maybe a little too warm for me...:spider: (If you don't know my spider story maybe I'll share over the campfire...)

Quick update here adding on to [MENTION=132027]OneGreenTaco[/MENTION]'s great work from earlier today:
I've cropped and georeferenced the topo map and saved it off as separate kmz and gpx files. This will make for an for easy import to conventional GPS units for the weekend. It's not perfect, but it will definitely provide a workable digital map to navigate from.
In other words, these files will display as a picture of the trail map on your GPS and your position will be overlayed on top of the picture, showing where you are on the trails.
These files will also open in software like Google Earth or Garmin Basecamp on a desktop/laptop at home. Unfortunately, the mobile version of Google earth, GaiaGPS, etc. won't display the picture overlay, just the track and waypoints (which I already posted earlier in this thread as an incomplete example).
Probably not helpful to folks that are already en route, but figured I'd post it up for anybody that might still be headed out tomorrow and want to load it up on their GPS/run it this weekend.
Again, the t4r.org forum software won't let me upload these files without renaming them as a workaround (had to add a ".pdf" to the end of each file). Just remove the .pdf before using the files and you shouldn't have any issues.
