Odd situation with my headlights

My girlfriend bought me some blacked out projector headlights with halos from spec d tuning but I think they're just a Chinese knock off
I had the stock projectors in my 4Runner before hand and the beam patten with these new ones seems terrible, they don't go as far or as wide and they have hot spots they project onto the pavement
I have them aimed to the same location that my factory ones were aimed to. Would I be able to split them apart and take the projector out of my factory unit and put it into these ones? If so what would that take? I've never done a retofit before

I wouldn't tear apart the OEM's. If you're already thinking of swapping projectors, just order a retrofit kit and get better results.

(Don't tear apart two to get one iffy one if you are't sure on what you're doing)

The Spec-D tuning projectors are pretty poor. I just got used to it... I agree, upgrade with a retrofit kit if you're going to spend the time. That way you still have a spare pair of headlights if it takes longer than expected. Plus the 06+ headlights sell pretty easily -- they are in high demand from those who have 03-05 trucks.
