odd storage bin

Yes, yes, I have been thinking about it.
Because my sport does not have the navigation-dvd option I am planning to use that area to install and aftermarket lcd screen. I have done quite a bit of research.
You can get a NEW touch screen SVGA monitor 7" for less than $300. I want to buy an extra storage bin-cover to mess with instead of damaging the one on the 4R.
I plan to set up a computer (full of mp3) with that screen. The computer will be under the passenger seat. I have not done anything physically yet but I have in paper all the diagrams of wires and dimmensions that I need. The computer will be about 1.2 MHz (it is going to be a used laptop that I removed the screen and it has a 30 gig shock resitant hard drive).

That project has been in my head for a while but work/college does not let me have time for anything else. Hopefully I can do it this summer.

It holds two packs of gum and a pen.

I have no future plans for this area. I guess you could mount some cool guages in its place if you wanted (oil pressure, coolant temp, trans coolant temp, air-fuel control, etc..)

Thats where I put my lunch money. I hate diggin in my back pocket for my wallet whenever I endulge myself at Carls Jr.... oh Yeah!!

- parking permit
- business cards
- key for employee garage at work
- FasTrak transponder for crossing the Bay Bridge every morning

I'm surprised it's held up for so long. Being that it seems kinda flimsy.

Fastrak transponder, garage door clicker, and a piece of cloth to stop them rattling around in there.

I actually think some of the storage spaces in the T4R are a little too big. What do folks do with their center console storage bin for example? That thing is huge and deep and has no handy nooks or anything. Just a big bucket for stuff to bounce around in.

damn, 1.2MHz laptop computer with 30 gig hdd. :lmao:

you probably mean 1.2GHz. sorry it gave me laughs imagining what would it be like.

Yup, same here minus the pens and tire pressure guage. I've found it pretty useless for the most part. Kind of like the flip up thing on the console arm rest. Cool ideas, but not very useful. At least not for me.

mucho deodorant, and my ipod....

I want to take it out and install my sirius radio into the front of it. I want to customize the inside so bad I cant stand it but Im still looking for something cool to do.

It's a pretty weird shape, limiting its usefulness.
I've got an I-PASS toll transponder in there. It was in the glovebox in my last car, so at least it's a little closer now. (I don't use it daily, so it doesn't have to be real handy.)

Nothing, same goes for that one by cigarette lighter socket. Speaking of the armrest bin, I wish it was two tier like my Camry.

That's good idea...;):

I have found no use for it at all. I also agree with dingo in that is seems really flimsy & would easily break. But one idea I got from some people here is that I may start to use it for my insurance & registration papers.

As for the cigarette lighter compartment to the left of the gear shifter, I keep about $10 in one dollar bills in there (for incidentals or that random run to McDonalds) along with my parking pass for work.
