A friend is turning in his 2000 4Runner after Toyota mailed him an offer to exit his lease early (4yr) if he buys another Toyota (he's getting a Solara).
He told me he was going to get ding'd on mileage since he had 80K on the odometer. Given his driving habits, mostly local driving, I thought the LCD odometer was reading kilometers instead of miles. Three and a half years and 48K is more likely than 80K. I live 10 miles farther from work than he does and I'm lucky if I get 18K per year on my car.
Is there a way to flip over the odometer on his 4Runner to read kilometers or miles? The dealer tells him 'no', my Toyota mechanic friend tells me 'yes' but he couldn't tell me how at the time...
