OEM 2001 Roof Rack and Rear Spoiler

I am looking to install a Toyota Factory Roof Rack and Spoiler on my 2001. I am pretty sure the roof rack installation will not require any drilling because of the holes that are already there holding on the two plastic strips. The question I have about the Spoiler is if the holes have inserts for the screws or does toyota use a self tapping type fastener of some kind? Thanks for any help on this.

the roof rack wont need drilling, but the rear wind defletor will need 6 holes to be drilled (3 per side)...they do use an "insert", kinda like a rivet..... was gonna install one on mine but decided didnt wanna drill holes

Thanks for the reply, I hate to drill holes too. Maybe one of those jobs left up to an expert.

I had to drill a 1/8" hole on each side when I put some running boards on. It wasn't much fun drilling a hole in a brand new vehicle. (I once drilled a 2 and 1/2 inch hole in my 27 foot sailboat for a knot meter.)

By the way, when I got the running boards it game with instructions, hopefully your rear wind deflector will come with instructions.

I sure hope the holes are in the frame when I go to install the trailer hitch!

i think the kit comes with a paper template on where to drill....but i think you also need a special tool to install those "rivnuts"(?) i thnk thats what is called
egr makes a "no drill" deflector....uses 3m tape...looks.. ok i guess...

I have the factory install instructions for the rear spoiler if you need it.
On the other hand I also have one of those EGR rear spoiler for sale if you don't want to drill holes in your rig email me
