OEM Audio Plus packages?

Firstly - I've reached out to OEM Audio Plus via their contact form and have not heard back... but I'm currently giving benefit of the doubt due to COVID and the general rave reviews of their system.

I think what I want is the speaker replacement and amp, basically no interest in the subwoofer portion. I have 2020 non-JBL system.

I had a few questions:
- Is there only one type of speaker, or are these "reference 500" speakers a different higher quality?
- I've heard the stock system is underpowered, but is amp truly necessary? Wonder if I should just plan to add later... if desired
- Not so sure I care about replacing the hatch speakers, but seems you can't really NOT get those? I imagine no/minimal price saving?
- The packages seem a bit confusing to me, and I can't really get Speakers+AMP, but NOT the subwoofer? I have no idea what the cost of what I desire would be?

Anything else I need to know?

I just finished installing the System 500 with dedicated sub amp. This system includes the sub, AMP with DSP, Tweeters and dedicated sub amp which is extra. It sounds amazing!

Answers to your questions:

There is only one quality of speaker from them

There are two reasons you would want the amp.
1. The DSP will fix the terrible eq'd signal coming out of the head-unit.
2. The extra power is really necessary to get the speakers to come alive.

The reason I know is I replaced my front and rear door speakers with Focals and it still sounded like crap. (I did not replace the rear hatch speakers) It was the sound coming from the head-unit that was tuned to work with the stock thin paper speakers with nickel sized magnets. In other words, they tuned the bass out to not blow the speakers and they tune the high end to work with their VERY poor quality "tweeters" which really can't put out the high notes.

I believe you can purchase:
1. The speakers by themselves, just the sub, AMP with DSP and Tweeters or everything.

I installed the speakers today. I'm happy with the upgrade, but I'm no audiophile. Even though my Off Road was spec'd with the "Premium Audio" this is clearly one place Toyota saves money. Appears you can customize the package anyway you like if you give them a call.
