OEM Auto-dimming/Compass Rear view mirror from '99 Limited T4R

Up for sale is an OEM rear view mirror off of my recently totaled '99 Limited T4R. This mirror is auto-dimming and has a built in compass. It can also be wired up to show outside temperature if you buy a compatible temp. sensor (see http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-g...-mirror-compass-thermometer-installation.html).

It was in perfect working order when it was removed from my 4Runner. It looks perfect from the outside as well. No dirt or damage. Also included is the cable that connects to the backside of the mirror.

Looking to get $50 shipped (lower 48) via paypal. I'll update this post once it is sold.

No clue. Toyota sometimes offers options/packages only in certain regions. Maybe that has something to do with it.

While these are very nice mirrors, and pretty spendy, it's not an OEM Toyota part.

This is an older model Gentex GENK2 I am pretty sure... Check google for reference.

I guess it depends on what your definition of OEM is. Mine is whatever came installed on the car as it left the factory in Japan.

You're right, Gentex appears to be the supplier for this part, but Toyota uses MANY suppliers for their OEM parts. Aisin, Denso, etc all make OEM Toyota parts.

That did not ship from Japan with your 4Runner. It's possible that like they often do, a dealership in the south installed as part of one of their, "dealer upgrade" packages like the XSP package and what not... If it did, I'd be interested to see how they filled the hole left by removing the OEM mirror that does not attach at the windshield.

I'd be happy if you could prove me wrong by providing me with a picture of it installed in your 4Runner.

As I said before though, it's a nice product, and good luck with your sale.

No hole to fill. The overhead light/sunglasses holder console covers everything.

Awilson is correct. This is not a factory mirror from a 4Runner. It IS a factory mirror from a vehicle produced in America (ie Camry) but it certainly wasn't produced in Japan.

It does leave a small hole on the backside of the sunglass holder, but since it already has a trim piece that covers it, the hole is not noticeable from inside the vehicle.
