OEM Head unit-Radio-CarPlay issues?

I have ‘20 ORP and noticed following issues with the head unit:

1. Navigation- sometimes its really delayed, by at least few turns.
2. CarPlay- due to above issues with navigation I use Waze from my phone, but after 15-30 minutes of use entire screen gets smudgy. Pandora doesn’t work sometimes right away. Need to get it restarted, reconnected.
3. Radio- It’s really weird, but it cannot just hold the signal within the city, which is really close to the source. I had aftermarket Pioneer on my 02, and it worked with no issues whatsoever.

It really pains me to think that brand new vehicle has those issues. Am I overreacting?
Did anyone else noticed something similar?

Make sure you’re running the latest head unit software version. I believe it’s 1047. It fixed CarPlay issues for most.

How do I check it and how to upgrade it if needed?

So how do you upgrade the software version? Is it self-install or do you have to visit a dealer?

Just did the update recently

Toyota Downloads

download it to a flash drive and start your car and go to the menu setting to update firmware or software. plug in your flash drive and wait for a popup to appear and it will allow you to update software. Just what DRYHEATAZ said it is 1047.

I’m having this issue. I’m on the latest update, 1060. CarPlay screen becomes pixelated and smeared. Audio skips, even on radio. Reconnecting CarPlay usually fixes it. Any suggestions?
