Was looking around on Facebook. And seen that 3rd gen came with "idle up" switch. Wonder why I do t have one. And if anyone has heard of it. Or what it does. ( maybe has to do with AC)

My 1st gen 4Runners all had idle-up VSV's for when you turned on the aircon. I don't think any of my 3rd gen's did/do. Perhaps that function is taken care of by the ECU/body computer (?).

As far as the switches you posted - never seen the back door lock or window disable mounted there on a 3rd gen. Clutch start cancel is... well ok you probably know what that is.

Yes I do know of clutch start cancel

Mine was auto from factory. Now it's manual with clutch start cancel switch.

However let's forget about that switch. And focus on idle up and the window switches.

Got a pic of the idle up switch? Is there any way the pic you posted is from a hilux surf? They might have a neat rear hatch lock button for some reason.

That photo is probably either an international model or a 2nd Gen 4Runner (pre-96). They didn't come stock like that in the US.

The idle is controlled by the ECU and the Idle Air Controller valve. That's it unfortunately.
