Hi All,
I'm planning on putting some '99 tall coils in the back of my truck soon, and was going to replace the shocks as well. Looking at some part number lists, it seems that there is a wide variety of shocks across the 3rd gen years.
My question: what is the most 'correct' Toyota part number to pair with the tall coils?
Background on my current setup: I kind of cheaped out when I bought the truck with original sagging springs and totally worn out shocks. I put Moog springs in and Monroe air adjustable shocks. Height wise it's fine, and the load leveing feature is fairly useful. But after 2 years things don't feel quite right back there. Feels like a lot of 'stiction' in the rear, when I roll to a stop and the truck rocks back it seems to 'catch' midway through the rear suspension travel. Just an unpleasant 'clunky' feeling. I suspect the Moog springs are a bit too soft, and the Monroes aren't damping as well as they should. I do carry a decent amount of weight and things in the truck semi-regularly when I go camping, but I want to maintain a OEM ride first and foremost. I figured tall coils and OEM shocks might be the safest, most logical route.
Thank you in advance.
