OEM Running Board Compatibily

Hi All,
I took the plunge and bought a 2015 SR5 premium last night. It should be here next week.

I'd like to add some running boards to it. I see some Trail boards on Amazon, and some takeoff boards from the Limited ones for sale in various places.

Do all 4Runner boards fit all models, or are there differences between models?

Hi JLM3

They're all the same wrt mounting. Style options may vary; particularly with the aftermarket offerings! "Congrats on your purchase", Rgds!

here are the factory options per model :


TE models = KH option only
(R6 might fit, but the body gap would be huge since its made for the LE in mind and the extra rocker/bodywork that the LE has)

SR5 models = KH or R6
(R6 leaves a gap between body and boards, see above)

LE models = R6 or KG
(KG is only available on the LE since this is the automatic running boards) (KH wont fit due to the extra rocker/bodywork inherent on the LE)

there is another option but its only available in the SE/Gulf States, its call R? cant remember the number code for it.

Congrats on your new ride! I am looking to sell the running boards from my pro, they will fit your SR5. If those are the style you are looking for let me know, and I could look into shipping cost.

JLM, I can read your PM but I have tried replying three times and it won't go through... if you PM me again with an email address or something I can reply to you that way. Long story short, my pro did come with running boards and I believe they are the same as the trail ones.
