oem running board or the N-Fabs ?

I had a few sets of nfabs on the tundra. I loved them. but they always rusted out around the welds.

Im 6'3" I think the running boards might not work for me. suggestions please fellas.

I've never understood these nfab steps. They look like a tough off-road design with a couple big anchors hanging off the sides waiting to be snagged on everything.

My nfabs have 13 inches clearance, the underside of my TE has 9.6. Not a problem unless I try to use them as sliders.
 
I can speak about OEM boards on a 2014 4 Runner SR5 - part # 00016-89004.
They look nice, but are very narrow. It was not my call. The wife wanted them. Boards look better on a 2WD SR5. My opinion.

Nerf bars are better for people who are less concerned with appearance and more with function. My opinion.
 
i really need them for my 3 year old. He cant get into his carseat without some sort of step. I dont plan on wheeling my new truck over rocks :vader:
 
I ended up getting it for $300 shipped from Street Side Auto - but that was a year ago. It looks like 4 Wheel Parts has it at $330 shipped now.
 
Personally always liked the look of the nfabs but ordered metal tech sliders. In transit now. Hope to like them. I was going for a bit more protection from debris kicked up from the front wheels.

I have the running boards on my 2011 LE and I have to agree here....they are narrow. They are nice getting in but a pain getting out. I am 6'4" so no issue getting in and out but my son and wife that is another story.

I have never owned the N-Fab bars so can not speak to them, but I would tell you I have been in the market for some thing that comes out a little farther to make it easier for my son and wife to get out easier.

Well, this worked for me and should work for you. I found the best price on Nfabs at Streetside Auto.com for $291.06:

N-Fab Part No. T1064R - Wheel To Wheel Nerf/Step Bars (Wheel to Wheel)

I then went to 4WP's webpage and submitted a price match and I recieved a call the next day saying they'd price match the $291 and have NFab send the steps to my local 4WP store for pick up. So...if you have a local 4WP store do the price match for a killer deal on these steps.
 
Our new 2014 TE came with the factory "rigid running boards". The wife thought they might help her get in/out as she is suffering from hip pain. Unfortunately, the first time she tried to use them, the pain was much worse.

So, I've already removed them and will be installing sliders. As an option, they were about $350. Anyone can have them for $200 plus actual shipping costs, where I take them to the UPS or FEDEX store, and have them packed & shipped. I have no boxes to ship them in.
 
Do you know if these will fit the 14 TE as well?

edit: I just googled this part number and numerous online retail sites are saying they DO fit.

Sorry for some reason I read LE and not TE - yes they fit TE!
