How do you like the Toyo R/T's? I'm looking into getting a set when I order new wheels. Can you provide some insight on the wet road traction and how well they perform in dirt, sand and mud?

Hey man sorry I'm just seeing this, I hardly get on anymore. So far I love the RTs! I have yet to drive them in heavy rain as I live in AZ but slick roads they are great. They slip a little in mud but they aren't a mud tire so I don't complain. I haven't used them in sand but in loose dirt they kinda suck aired up so I air down to about 18 psi and they handle great.

Stock 2002 suspension no spacers/adapters. 265 70 r17 on 17inch 2014 4runner 5th gen wheels.

Did you change out the spare to match? Does 265-70-17 fit the spare location with tow hitch?

Recently I bought 4 slightly used TRD wheels from this guy in Houston for $350 total. I think this is a great deal since I sold my 5-Stars for $200.

You (or someone) wouldn't happen to know the actual Backspacing, as in an actual measurement, on these?

I have searched the inter-webs high and low for this little bit of info, and just gotten confused.

I really like these, but I need something slightly wider than my current stockers, something that protrudes a little further to the side without using spacers.

I believe these are the measurements for the 16" TRD wheels, off an FJ Cruiser I think.

16x7.5"

4.34" Backspacing

17" tire sizes

Hello, I'm a newb to this forum, but not a newb to 4Runners, as I've had my '97 since 2001 and have had it lifted almost as long. Also had a lifted '85 years ago and a Toyota 4WD pickup years ago, before they were called Tacomas. On to the questions. (I suppose I might be being a little bit lazy here, plus since this is an older thread I'm sure things might have changed a little with the use of 17" wheels.)

I'm tossing around the idea of installing a set of 17" FJ Cruiser wheels on my third generation that's lifted 2.5 to 3". Does anybody know what size tire will work on that without going too much larger than the 32's on the stock 16" tri spokes I have on it now (can't remember the metric measurement and I'm not home near the truck). And do FJ wheels need a spacer?

I don't want a much bigger gas sucking tire size, as I drive this far distances sometimes and it needs to remain highway capable with a decent ride. Don't want any rubbing issues either.

Another question. Is a 1.25" spacer the correct size to use with a stock 2012 16" Tacoma TRD 5 spoke wheel in case I go that route?

2015 4runner take-offs. Found them on craigslist with tires for $400. Less than 500 miles on them.

Do you have a lift? Depending on the wheels you have you might need wheel spacers installed.

I haven't installed the wheels yet. I bought the 16" Tacoma wheels, but I'm not sure I want to use them now. Looking at a set of 17" FJ wheels in the morning. He wants $400 for wheels alone, so you got a great deal! Which wheelset did you get and did it come with tires? What size are the tires?

The Fj 17 is 7.5 in. The trail wheel from 5th gen is also 7.5. The sr5 wheel is7.

Fj 8 holes wheel has some rubbing with 265-70-17 at full turn while going over rough surface.

No rubbing with sr5 wheel 265-70-17 at full turn.

What about these two wheels? Is 265-70-17 a decent size tire that's not huge but still has a somewhat large look to it?

I'm thinking from what I've read this one needs a 1.25" spacer, right? I'm not so sure I like the looks of this anymore, though. Looks great on a Tacoma, but the more pictures of 4Runners I see with them the less I like this wheel for that application. I wouldn't have to buy new tires, though, and I really like that aspect of using them!

The tires are 265/70R17 with the 2015 4Runner rims. I don't have a lift, everything is stock. 2002 SR5 Sport Edition, automatic, 2WD.

I know I got a great deal on these wheels. $600 for off the showroom floor rims and rubber. The tires still have the little rubber hairs hanging off!

Wow! Great looking wheel! Those are bringing nearly $500 to $600 a set without tires on eBay, so yes you got a deal!

I ended up solving my running issue. The precious owner bumped something with the passenger side bumper and bent it a little. I'll pull it back and won't have any more rubbing.

Yeah, precious people tend to drive badly! Ha ha! JK! Glad you solved it!
