OEM toyota wheel options/pics for 3rd gen 4runner *post em up*

looks sick...almost same exact lift and same wheels/spacers...how do the tires fit? I have 33's with no rubbing, I imagine you had rubbing and had to hammer out the pinch welds???what about a front differential drop?

Thanks Man. Seeing them on your truck and xcmountain's made me decide to get them.
I had to trim/fold over the pinch welds. In addition to this I also pushed up the bottoms of the fenders by the door to try and not cut them. This works but I am going to just trim the fenders and toss on a 2" body lift to eliminate all rubbing. At full flex the back tire jams against the bumper and grabs it.

1999 4Runner Limited with early FJ Cruiser wheels

Early FJ Cruiser Alloys (17x7.5). They did not clear the Upper Control arms with 285/70R17 tires. I had to grind the arm to drive until I got spacers in(G2 Axle 1.25"). They would still rub the arms on any droop past ride height, before spacers. No issues after spacers, just was uneasy about long term spacer use.

Eventually got a set of FN/Konig Countersteer Type X, much happier with them.

Logman, here ya go! What I really liked about the FJ wheels is that the center caps, although plastic, have a removable aluminum cover, so I was able to powder coat that, color matching the center cap. Too many wheels out there have plastic center caps and finding paint to match powder can sometimes be a real headache. The actual plastic part and the Toyota logo were sprayed skin black with Krylon Fusion.

What color is this? I recently had my wheels coated in a similar color...Cherokee Bronze. Looks pretty black in the shade, bronze/gold in the light, but it pops like no other with the flake and color depth when the sun is on it.

thanks bro and maybe ill get 35s next but like where I am at for now! BTW your tires are 12.5" wide thats gotta be pretty close to as wide as you can go on a 7.5" wheel right? any issues with rubbing your UCAs?

Ok finally got these tires installed and got some decent pics. This is more for posterity than anything else.
BFGoodrich 275/70/17 on 2016 (maybe also 2017?) Tacoma TRD Sport wheels.
Previously I had the stock split spoke 16" wheels on with 285 Mts, no spacers, fit fine.
I bought these 17" Tacoma wheels used and stock they come with 265s. When I took them down to the shop to install the 275s I got a call saying they wouldn't fit because the tires would hit the UCAs. It appears that 265s are the widest you can do on a 3rd gen with no spacers and these wheels.
So, I ordered the spacers (1.25") and took it all back down to the shop and this is what I got. I expected the tires to stick out more than they do tbh. They're almost the same as the 285s with the stock 16" wheels in that regard.

I can't decide whether to get a set of those KO2s or KM2s... we have a tire sale going on now where I work and I'd get the 4th KO2 for a dollar and KM2 doesn't qualify :redbrick:

Depends on your driving. If you're mostly on pavement then KO2. If you like to go wheel regularly then maybe the KM2.

Tacoma Wheels

I found some Tacoma wheels 2 months ago and after a month of cleaning and deciding on tire sizes, i finally had them mounted yesterday and i couldn't be more happier. Thanks to everyone who gave me their opinion on the tire sizes and how they have worked out for them. I ended up going with a Michelin 265/70/17. Next will be the Tundra Brake Upgrade. Once i have a chance to clean her up, i will get some better pics. This was a quick phone pic after cleaning the blue off white letters and before the rain came. Thanks to 4BUMR for the tire info about his size.
