OEM vs non OEM headlight

I purchased a 02' last May. The previous owner replaced the front passenger headlight assembly with a cheap aftermarket one. One of the mounting brackets has already broken and the reflectors are starting to tear up and the light will not adjust.

The front driver side is in excellent shape and is the original OEM. My question is does anyone know where I can get a used (or new) OEM assembly for a reasonable price? I scoped out Ebay and they are asking upwards of $250. That is steep! If not, anyone had any good luck with a certain aftermarket one? Thanks:wave:

$218 on Amazon and Camelback, P/N: 81110-35320. I'd look at junkyards or Craigslist for used one if it's not an emergency...

Definitely junk yard. I picked one up for $40 to do my projector retrofit. I don't want to do it to my factory original heads. Check the glass to be sure it's a Toyota. I saw a few aftermarkets.

Do the post 99 headlights project notably better? was thinking of either polishing mine or snagging a junkyard pair and polishing those at my leisure

Looks like 99-02 for differently than 96-98. Purchased one off a wrecked one on eBay for $80. We will see how it turns out.

Really? I had a '97 3rd gen and installed '00 headlights in them with no problem. They are different in that in later versions, the reflector was different (the front lens was transparent, in earlier 3rd gens, the front lens WAS the light dispurser and therefore not transparent).

The 99+ headlights are sooooo worth it. When I had my original lights (1998), I wanted to do a HID projector retrofit. Now that I have the 1999 headlights (same bulbs), I have all the light I want!

As most of you know, it's plug n play.

The oe headlights on a 96

And some '00 oe from the local boneyard which look a lot sparklier than the pic.

The 99+ units have glass front lenses and not plastic, right?
My '97 left side stock unit falls out of adjustment due to..as far as I can tell...poor design, and I noticed that the 99+ OEM units are slightly cheaper.

I bought aftermarket a few years ago off of ebay, I really wish I wouldn't have looking back. They scatter the light very inconsistently.

Went pretty good expect for breaking bracket that holds side light in place. Think some plastic bond will hold up?

I got a driver side 2001 for $40 at my local junkyard. Br careful, I saw a lot of aftermarket before I found this one.
