OEM Wiper Blades

Hi guys, I would like to purchase a pair of OEM wiper blades for my 2006 4Runner.

Does anyone have the part number? Also, who has the best prices on these?

May I ask why? Why OEM? I mean, they are wipers. I got both fronts and the rear from rockauto during their close out for ~$8?

You're over thinking it.... Walk into any auto parts store and buy your wipers there.

The OEM wipers are pretty cheap from the dealer (I think that I paid around $13-14 for the two fronts) and they work well. Now if I can just find replacements for the windshield washer spray nozzles... something with a fan spray versus the three pin streams.

2.) the parts store wipers never seem to have quite the exact dimensions and miss part of the windshield.

I buy Bosch wiper blades at the local auto parts store. I had my last pair on for 3 years with no problems and that's with a lot of Sun hitting them. I think I paid about $16.00 for the pair back in Aug.

There are seriously a sh*t tonne of good options out there. Best option is Lucas slick mist on your windows.

I always have awesome results with rainx wipers and fluid. Have the time it rains I don't even turn the wipers on! [emoji106] good fit good performance.

Also with oem you can get the just the inserts after you have the blades for only $8. Cheaper in the long run.

If you think any part store wipers are any different then what came OEM, you're crazy.

Also, what's $20 once every two years for wipers? Rubber is rubber, it won't handle the elements being outside forever. For the little bit of safety and extra vision you get from new wiper blades each season, I'll gladly pay that tab.

after the original wipers on my 2007 4runner were replaced I tried bosch (the one piece ones) and some other ones. Then I went back to OEM. None of them compared to OEM. Why, I do not know. There is a very obvious difference

Look at Rockauto.com. The conventional Denso wipers listed for the 2006 4Runner are the exact same as the OEM ones made by Denso for Toyota at considerably cheaper that what the OEM ones are sold for.

Also, two years for wipers is great as far as I am concerned. Here in Colorado, the sun, low humidity, freeze, thaw, etc will destroy any wiper within a year or two regardless of the brand. With the exception of the rear wiper, I replace mine yearly. I have had good luck on my Hondas and Toyotas with the beam style wipers, they seem to work a lot better than the conventional style wipers

Interestingly, Rockauto shows different Denso part numbers. Wonder which is the OEM equivalent?

And furthermore, I've been working on cars for 18yrs. I've had Mustangs, Corvettes, Lexus, Toyota, various trucks and 99% of the time I go with something aftermarket, time always reveals I should have gone OEM. Nearly nothing at Autozone/Oreillys/Pepboys compares to OEM from my experience.

I usually replace the whole thing rather than the rubber. I found with a few other brands, the flexibility of the arm doesn't work as well as it gets older and I would find either end of the wiper actually riding off of the glass.

OEM wiper blades for the win, used bosch icon, and even in the summer season, 3 months later streak and didn't sit right. Clayed polished the glass too. with high end wax. Just change the inserts... Going OEM from now on...

Ok, i'm picturing this:
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 cup milk
1 cup flour
2 OEM wiper blades for 4runner

combine eggs, milk, flour and wiper blades into mixing bowl. Using high power on electric mixer, mix until slightly lumpy.

Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Should come out nice and crunchy. :wink2:
