Off-Road Lights mounted to Bumper?

What do you think they look like?
1-10
1 being honda ricey
10 being total bad ass

Its kinda hard to tell because it is different from the normal mounting points. I wish I had some lights to play around withbefore actually buying a set. Maybe Brian would let us borrow his......:D

Are those suppossed to be Hella 500's?
Hella's are alot bigger than what you photochopped- look at the Safarigard 4Runner. 3 Hella's totally fill up the front grill.

Not a big fan of the look jgrimball.
How about putting smaller lights behind the grill, inside the bumper. There is a steel beam there for easy mounting and it would be stealthy. Plenty of room in there too.

The ones on the Safarigard 4Runner are Hella 4000's.
They are alot bigger.

Something about the look I like and somethin I dont.
:p

I don't know about you guys but I like my things spread. I just got a pair of Hella 500 from a guy on yotatech. was thinking of putting them on the bumper.

My lights look alot like the 2nd photo but on top of the bumper and no cover. About the same size and spread. Not overly large - I wanted to avoid that look as well. Got some larger washers last night and put them under the base on top of the bumper cover - should have done that in advance(DUH!).
It did 2 things - covered up the gouges and made the mounting much stiffer. Played with them last night and they are just plane fantastic! The switch is in the center on the right side of the 3 buttons, so on/off is at reach. I ran the power through the parking lights ( can run lights with out the head lights on) So much brighter than just high beams and easly adjustable pattern from very wide to fine point long distance. Very pleased with Lightforce and the final mounting. Got to get some pix up.

What kinda lights do you have?
We need photos!

I might buy some crappy lights today to see
what they look like. Then if it looks good
I will buy the hellas.

I got an unmounted set of Hella 500s with all the hardware sitting in my garage you guys are welcome to test fit. They are going up on a roof rack eventually.

I would definitely not use the black and white stone shields as shown in the earlier pic, but the clear stone shields for sure. They look better up on the bumper rather than below it, at least lights that big do. If you go smaller lights, just mount them in the lower grill area there.

I love mine!

I would love to have them on top of tghe bumper, but I know I could never bring myself to drill through the bumper. Yep, I'm chicken to do that.

I got fogs on the bumper right now for driving to work in the morning, but I'll eventually incorporate some into a TJM/ARB and move those to the rear of the roof rack. The ones I have that are unmounted are Hella 500 driving lights. The Hella 500s are all the same size.

I'll drill that bumper for you. But come to think of it, bamachem drilled mine. Something about having to do it yourself that is unnerving I guess. :D

This is exactly what I want to do with my lights.

Hey wabbit,

If you got any free time I would like to drop by
and hold the hellas up to my rig and see how
big they are and how they would look.

Cool?

Sure

I should be home all day Saturday as we are having a b-day party for my 2 year old that night. I'm sure the ball and chain will have me slaving away cleaning everything in sight, so try to come by in the mid morning. Just call me.

Check out these photochops.
I made a paper mock up so I could get the size right.
I personally like them better below the bumper than
on top. I also made a side shot.
