Off-roading Trip to Colorado---PICS

Hey all,

My brother and I went to Colorado to do some off-roading this past week. I was in my G500 and he had his Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. We first stopped in Denver...nice town! Next, we went to the Rocky Mountain National Park, where we off-roaded on North Supply Creek (west of Grand Lake and Rocky Moutain NP; mild-moderate terrain) and Kawuneeche Road (easy terrain).

Early Christmas...we ran into an early snow storm!

Next, we traveled south and west of CO...to Ouray and Telluride.

First two trails were: Ophir Pass (easy) and Imogene Pass (moderate).

The following day, we met up with another G-wagen owner (whom i met on the G-forum). He has a 1995 G320. He off-roads in these Passes 3-4 times a week! Thus, he knows these Passes very well.

This is at the entrance of Engineer Pass (moderate). During the trip thru Engineer, we also took on some "optional" obstacles.

From the pic below it looks like the other G owner took off his running boards - any reason why you didn't take them off on yours?

Beautiful pictures, it looks like a lot of fun. Especially from my vantage point at my desk.

While there are two experts on here, I have a quick question. I noticed you blacked out the liscense plate with what looks like the spray can tool of paint. Is this safer then the box tool? Can the box be ungrouped somehow and the spray can't? Sorry for going off-topic, but then again that is where this thread is located. I will gladly edit this post after the fact if you don't want it here. Thanks.

Gatorgreg...i didn't take mine off because they seem to be high enough. Anyway, taking it off would expose the sides of my G-wagen to rocks spraying up from the front wheels. They are replaceable...but my paint job is not.

Luxury...i have no idea. I just used the Paint thing on my computer. I don't care much if someone finds out my license plate number...a lot of people see my car everyday going to work.

Good point. It just seemed like a common thing to do, so I followed suit. Thanks for the response.
