June and September I'd assume are related to school calendars...?I wonder what's up with April, June and September every year?

Ryan1975 Have you ever seen a published breakdown of how many of each trim level is sold per year?
I haven't. I think I know where to look, been meaning to look. 1engineer wrote once upon a time that SR5s comprised about 65%, Limiteds about 20% and the rest were Trail / TRD Pro

What's most unusual is that sales continue to increase - normally you'd expect the exact opposite where sales near the end of a production run decrease. I know it's just 1 year more than normal at this point - but it's starting to feel like the Tacoma and 4runner are turning int0 7x series land cruisers. Basically there are only small incremental changes for an unknown length of time and even "redesigns" are just minor cosmetic updates.
Exactly - while the 4th Gen is unique because of the global economic collapse that occurred in 2008 / 2009 - the drop off was not unique to automotive trends. The key to the 4Runner vs other vehicles (pathfinder / explorer come to mind) is that Toyota committed to retaining a true offroad / utility approach to the 4Runner and realized they had the Highlander for passenger vehicle sales and didn't need to convert the 4Runner name plate.
