I've driven mine with water at the bottom for the headlights and none of it got in.

Not so sure what you're worried about in regards to carpet. The 4runners are sealed pretty well so you shouldn't have a problem with water coming in. As long as you don't stop and park in the middle of a pond you should be alright with forward momentum.

Yea aslong as you're not stuck in water like this for more than 10 seconds, you're good to go lol. I was in there for 7 mins........

if you ever get water in your cab and dont want to pull the interior you can use some damp rid and coffee grounds to pull out the moisture and smell. i have had good success using this method.

How high is your lift on your T4R?

I have a 2.5" lift

Yep, had to pull the seats and carpet. It was so deep in there that under the back seats were all soaked. Luckily I got out of there on my own and in 2wd!

thats pretty crazy.

i've driven in water up to the bottom of the headlights for extended periods without water coming in.

then again i didnt exactly stop and sit in the water as well.

covering the carpet in truck-bed liner would be what i'd do if water came in the cab. along with drilling a few holes for drainage plugs

It did pour rain on us from Friday night until this afternoon when the last picture was taken. We couldn't do the two trails we originally had planned to do today because they were too heavily saturated and we didn't want to tear them up.

i applaud you and your trail friends for that decision. most people see mud as a challenge and dont think of the recourse that driving through it may have on the enviroment. (i'm extremely guilty of this in my younger days)

Around here I see these idiots finding the only section of water/mud and doing all they can to cover their trucks in it regardless of the fact that they are destroying the trail and making it hard for the next people coming through.

Yeah, a lot of the trails around here have been closed down in recent years for this exact reason so we're all pretty sensitive to it. Respected access is open access.
