Ocotillo/AKA Painted Gorge, looked it up on Google maps, it looks to be minutes away from TJ!

This is out near Ocotillo. There is so much country out there it's gonna take a few trips to get it

That is awesome, I'm headed to Maui in the morning but when we return we leave the next morning to Yuma Az to dove hunt. Care to share how to get there since its on our way to Yuma. Would make a great side trip.

I wouldn't really camp out there. All the spots I saw were really just flat spots inthe trail with a fire pit. Maybe better spots up in the mountains. The 8 runs parallel to the boarder for like 30 minutes on the way out there and besides one dune buggy all we saw were boarder patrol guys.

My apologies for the small quantity and poor quality of pictures, it was a spur of the moment trip to head out there and I was by myself so I didn't want to be way out there for too long.

Thanks, we normally stop in Alpine for nachos. From the 8 how far of a drive to the spot ? Just trying to see how much time to allow.

We are at the Four Seasons on the west side of Maui but we hit Lahaina to take my sons to Napili Point to snorkel , we had lunch at the brew pub.

Does this count? Technically it is off road :shrug: lol. This was in NH near the Pemi River. I wasn't sure where to get in to where I saw quad tours ripping around in the back woods, nor if it would have been legal for me to be driving on those trails. I really need to find out where to go.

I lived in Springfield, Mass for a little bit. I learnt to find the best trails look for telephone/electricity pillions and masts. They always have open access roads (for maintenance trucks) that lead to multiple "off road" trails. Some pretty crazy... some pretty tame. Be safe

You'll also come across these guys from time to time!

I drove up under the power lines in Milford, MA off of 495 but later found out it was illegal due to a mountain bike association taking over the rights to the land. A bit of a bummer because it was a nice route. I often look for places like these.
