Adding to the fun that everyone had this past weekend & got to test out my new Icon Suspension! & It was a HUGE difference! Everything seemed like cake walk:

Unfortunately a rock cut into my buddy's tire... but it was at the very end of the trail.

It was definitely a lot of fun. I'd love to head back up there sometime and do a little more exploring without being on a time frame for the event.

@FactoryRide, I'm digging that 4x4 van did you get to check it out? A guy I work with bought one with plans of overlanding it after he retires, he had it custom made out in Arizona. No offense man but that vinyl has got to go, too wrinkly.

@deekoi, Truck is looking sweet!:thumb3: With the Icon set-up I bet you thought you were driving a different truck. Are you looking into new tires or are you gonna stay with the Destination's for now?

I did get to check the van out, and man was it sweet. The guy was basically self-sufficient with it. It has had a 4x4 conversion done and lifted. Diesel. The inside had been gutted on the inside of the panels it had dynamat, housing insulation, and some other thermo stuff. He also had a bed/fold up couch inside where he could lay width ways of the van and not touch on either side. In the cargo area he had room for a lot of tools, on board air, spare liquids and filters for everything, expedition pack, and a bug out bag. He said he kept everything in canvas packs, and action packers to keep everything contained and allowed to move stuff easily and quietly. I'm sure there's more but I didn't get a whole lot of time to talk to him about it.

I know, I know haha. I'm planning on doing it over, I just haven't had the time or the want to give it another go yet. The matte black just helps with my hour drive on hwy 20 west on when I'm heading back to the school. I'll get it fixed whenever I get the time and funds.

Thanks! I've been thinking about it but at this point, I can't afford it. The destinations have about 19k on them and they have performed great with no complaints about them. I do want the more aggressive look but the mpg hit is too costly for my daily driver.

I've considered selling these and getting a more aggressive tire but with the same size or 1 size up, 265 or 275 but just tossing the idea around in my head. & waiting to win the lotto!

When we did the vinyl we started from one side and worked to the other. That puts stress on the vinyl and causes it to stretch some. No big deal though. My dad was also helping me, and he figured it would work easier if we cut the hole for the scoop. He thought it would help relieve some of the stress. Once we got it all past the scoop, it decided to all gather up and we just couldn't get the wrinkles to come out. It became a game of where to place the wrinkle instead.

I'm going to redo in eventually but its not on the top of the priority list at the moment. It serves its purpose. I spoke to a buddy of mine who owns a graphics shop and does vehicle wraps for a living, and he told me i'd be better off painting it. He said for the cost of having it wrapped, and the durability of it that it wasn't really worth it. So I bought the stuff to try it myself, and to see if I would really like it or not (sometimes pictures just don't do the right amount of justice), but I have fallen in love with the black hood.
He told me, with the matte black sitting in the sun all the time it wouldn't last any longer then a few years.
Maaco quoted me $450 for it to be painted. It would be significantly cheaper if I didn't want matte though. It's the dulling agent that goes into the clear coat that causes it to be so pricey.

Took our first trip out to Superior for the Fall/Winter. A lot of the areas burned over the summer so I wanted to see how bad it was. It was nice to get up into higher elevation and cool off, but really disheartening to see all the burned trees. I did not take a lot of photos of the badly burned areas as it was not something I want to remember. We were in the trail system for about 6-7 hours so my brain is mush. Did not take my normal 100+ photos, so these will have to do.

Third house next to the two we have been dropping by the past couple years. There was a lot of trees and brush in that area in the past, the fire took them out and exposed it.

Pretty nasty switchbacks. Photos do not do them justice.

Pretty large tarantula. Check out the size in comparison to the 285 Duratrac track in the dirt.

I had kicked around the idea of bedliner as well, but decided I'd stay away from it. A few reasons kept me from going that route. The first was that the Matte is already a chore to keep clean, and idk if ya'll have ever tried washing bedliner, but it's very difficult to get clean especially after mud and dirt get into it. I found that out this summer when I was detailing cars. Also, when I spoke to lineX in alpharetta, they mentioned that the weight of the bedliner might be too much for the hood struts and cause them to fail early and I wasn't particularly found of having to find a heavier duty replacement. I've also seen bedliner fade pretty bad on some trucks and didn't care to have that on my hood. With paint, I can always go back to silver with another paint job. With the bedliner, it's permanent. Not saying I'd go back, but that would then always be an option if I had to.

Oh and I wanna say the bedliner quote was around $125-150
