Official: Gym/Workout Thread

geez I havent posted in the gym thread for a while. I picked up a Titin weighted compression shirt a couple weeks back to make things a little more challenging.

simply put: it kicks my ass every time. highly recommended if you get a chance.

My routine is something like this
Rep x set

Bicep/chest day
Bench press 8x5 @135
Incline press 8x5 @135
Curls/invert curls 12x5 @60
Military press 8x3 @95
Chest/fly pulls 5x4 @210

Back/lat/triceps
Dips 3x4 with 45lb belt
Lat pulls 10x5 @90
Shoulder rolls 15x5 with 65lb barbells.
Behind the back curls 5x4 @75
Fly pushes 10x4 @90
Then I'll go back and work out anything I feel like needs work after.

Repeat repeat repeat

It's a pretty lax routine. I spread out legs cardio and abs over the week as a post workout warm down.

I'm 197 at 6 ft 2 in. I'm trying out mass builder right now and it works pretty good. I shit concrete bricks but I've gained about 7lbs muscle in 5 weeks. I take pre workout when I can.

zopperman looks like we are about the same, just started doing incline and fly's.. Hoping to work my way up slowly.

On a side note, I have never done squats in my life. My cousin shows me how to the other day, I did 95lbs 6reps and I nearly fell when i finished, still hurts, this was Monday. lol

It's called Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness, and you will get it any time you start working a new muscle group.

Does anyone on here take BCA's? Any recommendations on which brand/type to take?

Most will tell you they are a waste of money and do nothing. I used them in the past because I felt they helped with DOMS. I used Scivation Xtennd with what I felt were good results. Less pain after workouts. I haven't used any supplements in a few years though, so I don't know what is out there these days.

+1 on the Scivation Xtennd. i take them everyday. for 2 reasons. it tastes great, better than drinking just straight water. 2 i feel like it helps. i def have less pain/soreness. once i started taking them i was able to increase weight on a more consistent basis. blue one taste awesome

Thanks for the tip.. any specific reasons you stopped taking supplements?

leftyguns21 thanks for the recommendation :)

Edit - here are the flavors.. Which one is the "blue one"
Blue Raspberry
Green Apple Explosion
Watermelon

Is it the Blue Raspberry?

I don't really get sore after workouts anymore and I found that eating a good protein rich meal after workouts was just as effective for me.

FYI, the Lemon Lime flavor was pretty good mixed with Powerade.

DannyLlama its the blue raspberry one. i checked on my way to the gym today. some reviews i read of other products said it clumped. the Scivation mixes great just in a normal water bottle shaking it. no nasty film floating at the top or clumps. amazon has a good deal on it

At maintenance mode right now, gym 3 times a week. Eating kinda clean but enough that im not losing weight. Too lazy to cut too lazy to bulk. That collage + working life man

I'm right there with you except I'm not even at maintenance mode. I'm at nothing mode right now. That constant hip pain and tension headache life.

Just once I would like to wake up without pain.

Haven't posted in a while, nothing big to report.
Weight is still around 195lbs.
I have noticed that my right arm is getting more vascular. For some reason it has always had less than my left. Anyways need to start working on abs since the weather is getting nicer and I'm ready to show off my hard work!
