Rought numbers. Havent done a max out day but these are some numbers that I have been doing low reps with

Bench: 265
Squat: 335
Deadlift: 375

hopefully i can get a max soon since we are holding a max out day at work

Solids numbers. Whats your BW?

Im 165-170lbs. All raw lifts.
Bench-325
Squat-385
Dead-Pulled 465 for a double last week

I try to do mock meets every 6-8 weeks to see where Im at. Dont often have spotters so I either short myself (which I always regret) or things get really interesting sometimes lol.

275 class lifter so i hover around there most of the time.

Beast....just like your runner.

dumb question. what is rest-pause. is that pausing between reps?

While keeping your back tight and never losing body tension
-let the bars weight settle onto your chest (but not all of it)
-hold for a second or 2
-big breath
-then drive that bar up as fast as you possibly can. (dont lock out because it takes tension off the muscle)

I use this method for all my big lifts. Itll make you a beast squatter too.

why is it when i do leg day my legs are sore for days, but when i work any other muscle group usually dont get too sore. is it cause im doing more excercises on legs or bigger muscle group?

youre using that movement all the time, legs don't get as much rest so you feel the soreness more. unless you rarely do legs, then its probably a lactic acid buildup

ive modified my diet after doing some research on bodybuilding.com. the results have been crazy, ive packed on 9lbs in 4 weeks of lean muscle. i finally made it to my goal weight of 170lbs (5'9" 15%BF) but i dont feel i look like i thought i would look at 170lbs so im going to keep. my weak area is my arms, is this the slowest area to grow? ive seen other people at 170lbs look like monsters but i still look like a little school boy

Mind linking some of the more helpful diet info threads?

hearno eating is the hardest part. staying disciplined. the diet he outlines is pretty easy and not much prep work which is nice. if you like the foods he mentions and follow it the results are good

9lbs of lean muscle in one month? I don't think that's possible. Im an everday reader and miscer on bb.com, and from my understanding the body can only produce a few lbs of muscle per month. Maybe 9 lbs of weight, say probably 5.5 of fat and 3.5 of muscle sounds somewhat attainable, but 9lbs of pure muscle?

Im not saying your wrong, I may be wrong. It took me about 2 years to pack on 25lbs and that's with fat. Im at 167, I finally started my first cut. Will cut for about 6 weeks. Im at about 20%bf right now.

I started at 160/161lbs on a new split. 4 weeks later i am at 169. I thought it was 'lean' cause my pants fit looser and BF has gone down. (using the 24hr fitness machine) I guess I assume if fats involved wouldn't my waist be bigger not smaller? how do I know if its lean muscle vs fat that im adding if my weight is going up
that gives me a good point of reference knowing how long it does take to gain good weight thanks for that info.

well they say its how you look in the mirror that matters, so if your gaining weight and losing on the waist then that's progress. They also say its almost impossible to gain muscle without fat, especially at that speed. If your not actually testing your bodyfat , then you don't know for sure. Im gonna check out that program you posted.:thumb3:

does anyone know how much the smith machine reduces the weight? i use the smith machine a lot for bench since i never have a spotter, but it was full the other day so i used the regular bench and had to cut the weight down quite a bit. does the smith machine really assist that much

First post here, but the machine we use for football work outs is 15. The actual bar itself is actually heavier than 45 pounds, but the pulleys take some weight off of it. It's also easier because it auto balances for you.

Anyways time for an intro, I'm 17 and looking into getting back to where I used to be. Last year I shattered my ankle in football and had to get metal pins put in it. My doctor just gave me the clear to play football next year and I'm looking to get bigger both for football and because I love lifting. I've lifted since I was 11 and am fairly familiar with proteins and supplements. This is the longest I've been out of the gym in my entire life. Any suggestions to help jump back in? Supplements? I can't find craze anymore so I'm guessing they don't make it anymore.
