I have been enjoying this forum for a little while now, and realized I never did post an intro...sorry!
I bought our '90 4R with last year's tax return, Wife wanted an Exploder (oops, did I type that?) but some friends were selling their 4Runner...since I wanted one since they were first intro'ed, and the price was awesome, we got it.
Done a little off-roading with it, a few road trips, several camping trips (I am an assistant scoutmaster for a local Boy Scout troop), I love it more than I knew I would.
Bad news is; so does the wife...and what the Redhead wants the Redhead takes. Guess it could be good news tho...gotta get another one!
Future plans: Engine/trans rebuild (v6/5speed) total running gear service/rebuild. Fix what little rust has started (already working on this), repaint the stock dark green, and (of course) wheels and tires. It came with 225's and has 235's now. I am thinking I will leave it as I love the mileage we get as is. I may go 31's later if I decide to swap the ring and pinion when I add diffs (open diffs bite!). I want ARB lockers, but will probaly start with a rear limited slip and then a front later on. She runs full-time hubs and I love them (and am REALLY surprised at the mileage!). Gotta get me a K&N cleaning kit tho...poor truck was neglected for at least a year. I changed out all the fluids and found a cloggen K&N in the airbox. Cleaned it with a hose and put it back, works fine!
Great site and thanks to those who have been answering my ID10-T questions so far!
