Honestly all I see here are kids toy knives.

Travel and find out that these are what a gentleman (or a Catholic sheep herder in France) would carry ... note the cross in the handles to say Grace before your meal.

Maybe French Catholic shephards should up their knife game? Oh wait, maybe they're good for dropping?:ranger:

27 year old Cold Steel Recon Tanto-Carbon V steel, always kept in my vehicles.
EDC is a cheap Gerber slim-line folder I found at a campground
old school SOG Paratool (with Blackie Collins sheath) kept in my BOB

I don't "collect" knives. But I have quite a few.
Recently bought a Cold Steel "Marauder" bowie that lives in the 4runner.
EDC is a Fox karambit & a 2½" leaf folder. Benchmade 4" tango & a Cold Steel kukuri machete reside in my EDC pack.
Plus many more. All for utility purposes.
Then there's the broadheads....

I really like knives. The photo is of my favorite knives plus a suppressed 22 that is way cool. From right to left - Hinderer, Crawford, Duane Dwyer and my all time favorite Shirogorov. The Hinderer was my daily carry for years and is an awesome knife.

Big fan of Joe Watson knives, from the DFW area! Have a pretty large array of them. Practical, as well as well made and beautiful!

Fox Karambit folder is EDC along with a 2" folder as the working blade.
I also EDC a pack with various blades up to a 12" Kukuri machete.
10" Cold Steel Bowie lives in the back of the 4runner.

My favorite EDC is the SAK cadet alox. Very slim, basically blade and two opener/screwdrivers.. I usually get the black handles.

Pretty non-threatening in a professional environment. Under $50 if I lose it, and I gave the same one to my son when he was a cub scout

Otherwise will add a BM mini-grip with G10 handles to my EDC for more robust tasks.

I have a couple Chris Reeves, a Benchmade, Emerson, RAT Cutlery, three ZT's ... But my latest is a Liong Mah Design Field Duty. Liong is a former pasty chef turned knife designer. His knives are not cheap, and made in China by Reate.

But, the quality, fit and finish is as good or better than any of my other knives. The action is easily the smoothest, and the M390 steel is top choice "super steel".

Honestly, it's a better knife than the similarly-priced Reeves. I was on the fence paying that much for a made in China knife ... But it's amazing.

Was hunting for this knife for 20+ years and finally found one.

Boker Speed lock switchblade with Thuya wood inserts.

Made in Solingen Germany.

Came with the original box, manual, plastic for knife, and belt sheath.

I never carry it. It is a safe queen like most of my guns.

Didn't see this brand and they are not widely known, but my opinion is they are the best knives without having one custom made. Period. Take a look at Extrema Knives out of Italy. I haven't found a brand better. They stand up to everything you throw at them. I even pounded one with a sledge hammer using it as wood splice. Was still able easily shave my arm hair after. They hold sharpness better than any I have seen. I have about 5 Extrema knives.

-PDW Invictus Auto MIL-LE
-DPx Gear HEAT/F in shredded carbon

At work I always carry my DPx Gear HEST/F

For the traditional method, I use Washita and Arkansas stones with oil.

For a quick and dirty, I pull out an AccuSharp:

For sharpening, either a Lansky stone system or Work Sharp Ken Onion Edition.

I find most just buy a new knife. Sharpening is an art. Over the years i have done everything from belt sander to abrasives on plate glass, stones to diamond sharpener. Just like seeing what people use. Some elaborate systems out there.

I know a guy who spends hours making his blades so sharp he’s proud that he can shave hair with them.
I just take a few swipes of a handheld sharpener so I can get back to cutting dead animal flesh.
