Despite having an awesome 4runner, Crozhawk should be disqualified for a few reasons..
He's already won being the main one.
Also hes not active anymore. How does the forum gain from him winning?
Also he just paid a shop to do all the work.. Thats like when a lambo wins a car show against a few owner restored classics. Money wins, thats dumb.

I didn't vote for Crozhawk, so I'm not exactly defending him, but I don't think it's fair to disqualify him for the reason of paying a shop to do the work. Being inactive and having won before are the GOOD reasons, but paying a shop to do the work is not a good reason IMO. Some people don't have the skills or tools required to do the work themselves. I think the important thing is if you pay someone to do it for you, that it comes out how you want it. That it is important that you dream up how you want it to look and how you get it that way is up to you, as long as it is your truck. Some people aren't confident enough to do some of the work themselves, and that is perfectly fine IMO.

I see where you are coming from, I have no problem with shops doing all the work. But as far as this type of contest goes, I think it matters who built it.. Because the prize goes to the owner. The contest is about who has the best build, who has put more work into the build, more thought, more effort, more blood sweat and tears, not just who put in more money..

I agree to an extent, but quite a few build threads I have seen are also updates on things people have done, or HAD done to their truck. Personally, I don't have a problem seeing people get work done professionally. Maybe I'm just biased because I know I'm going to be one of those taking their trucks to a shop when I order my lift kit. But just because I don't know how to install a suspension lift does not mean I love my 4Runner any less than anyone on this forum lol

I have to agree with NJShadow about the working on your junk thing.
I've always done most of the work on my (and my close friends'/family's) vehicles but a lot of people just don't have the time, tools, knowledge, or ability to do their own work.
I think the T4RotM contest (based on the previous winners) is more based on who is proudest of and uses their 4runner it in fun or interesting ways, in addition to the obvious fact of having some neat mods. If you sift through the old T4RotM pages, the majority of winners are people who have posted a ton of pictures of their rig and are out enjoying their 4runner. Not just wrenching on it.
A large proportion of winners weren't nearly as modified as the field in this poll. Some winners don't even have build threads but won based on a picture filled vacation or trip thread.

I get where you guys are coming from and it makes complete sense but there's nothing we can do this month. This is a democracy so I can't play god and choose who stays and who goes. He's been nominated and he's getting votes so he's clearly popular among the voters.
Maybe next month we'll have a rule that past winners or inactive users can't be nominated. Let's not forget that this is our first attempt at bringing back T4ROTM so theres bound to be some issues. Be patient we'll work them out.

Weird, the votes are rolling in for Crozhawk, sounds like most people just go to the front page and choose the most modified looking one. I've been active on this forum for 4 years and I've never even heard of the dude until this poll came out.
Shame that he paid a shop to do it all. Credit can't exactly be given, anyone can shell out Benjamins at a shop and end up with a bad ass ride--that they know nothing about.
One of the middle-aged salesmen at my work is an excellent example. He's a complete tool, he sells cars that he knows jack about. He knows how to sell a product that sells itself. He bought a run down 1985 CJ-7 and had it restored from top to bottom by a shop. It came back looking better than the day it left the assembly line. He probably put 300 clean paved miles on it before buying a $35k Black Ops Jeep Rubicon on 35"s, SFA, lockers, sliders, the works.
That thing would easily kick the **** out of most of our trucks on the beaten path, instead, he had a DVD entertainment system installed with a new soft top. He would take his breaks and drive around in his pavement princess blasting his creepy middle-aged obsession to teen pop. Pavement pounding beauty, before he sold that, too.
People complimented him on his Jeep as often as he blinked. People gave him constant props. I think he deserves nothing but ridicule for being a attention whore/douchebag. He kept the brochure of the truck in case people wanted to know about it.
There's a reason most of us refer to our trucks as "Built, not bought." A small description on the front page to explain each truck would help people in their choice, IMO. I would probably enter this thread, as a new member, and choose Crozhawk simply because it looks most modified. Looks can be deceiving.

The rest of us work hard on our trucks and can't compete with whatever thousands Crozhawk threw at a shop to get his truck like that, which I'm sure is miles beyond his actual mechanical ability. Sweet truck, but I'll give the props to the shop that built it.

Let me start by saying that I'm not saying Crozhawk should win here, clearly I'm in the running (well not really) and to back Croz would be silly.
You can't say just because you haven't heard of him he hasn't been around. I've been on the forum two years and I know Crozhawk's build VERY WELL, as I'm sure many 4th genres do. On the other hand I have no idea who DirtCo is and I've only seen COB's build once a long time ago before this poll. Just as I'm sure you two don't know our builds well, even though if you went to the 4th gen forum almost everyone knows who we (Croz, Magert, & I) are. It's just a matter of 3rd genners not surfing the 4th gen forum and visa versa.
Also This is clearly not a big shop. As far as I know Croz has done almost all the work himself and has built front and rear bumpers for other 4th gens. I believe he also assisted another member (Roams001) perform the SAS on his 4th gen.
That said I still agree COB should win since Crozhawk isn't very active, has already won, and probably would not care if he won again.

The gallery is good for that too and that's really the only time I've seen any 3rd gen builds. Unfortunately my D.A. posted my build in the 4th gen forum so I'm forever bound to that..
