It's official, and it looks like there should be enough interest to complete this order. Due to the size of the initial purchase, I cannot complete this without your commits.

I am looking for 9 commits. It will be first come first serve. If you are later on the list you can replace someone that falls out, or I can get together another buy down the road. I will accept paypal for the funds and will PM you with those details. After I have completed the order with the manufacturer, I will not be able to refund you. Per the manufacturer, this will take 30-35 working days once the order has been placed.

What does this price include? It will include the Tan 2-3 person tent, matching annex room and annex floor. The specs are as follows:

Delivery
Delivery will be made to the Port of Baltimore. It will clear customs and be stored in the broker's warehouse for pickup. If you cannot pick up on that day, there may be a nominal storage fee. I will be happy to get quotes for curbside delivery if it is necessary.

If you live in Frederick County or Montgomery County MD, I'd be happy to lend a hand and pickup an extra tent or 2 and you can pickup from my home.

Very very similar. Comparable CVT is the Mt Shasta extended, except this is 300g instead of 280g like CVT

These look nearly identical to the CVT that I own. If I didn't already have a tent I would be all over this group buy.

Bump, also wanted to add that the broker misquoted the duty tax...

I will honor $900, so please if you are in, let me know asap as this price from the manufacturer is only good for 30 days, and I've already been working on this for close to 2 weeks.

Because I've laid this $900 price out, I am willing to take the hit, and say lesson learned...In the end it's still a discount... For those of you that are still interested and wouldn't mind chipping in, It's actually going to be $935 per tent.

If this falls through, it is what it is and I'll revisit it later.

Definitely. I wouldn't doubt it if they came out of the same factory. A lot of these brands just rebadge their stuff.

Ok, so I think that maybe those who said they were interested are thinking that $900 is too much for a china import tent? I'm not really sure if that's the case, but first of all, at $900, I am actually losing money since I misquoted the price to you all. Second, Almost all of the roof top tents you would buy in the US are made in China. The company I am working with is very reputable and proud of their quality. They've priced out a tent with high quality parts. Things like full alloy hinges and joints vs, plastic joints, all stainless hardware, 300g poly-cotton vs. 280g, waterproofed, 1 inch frame poles vs. 5/8ths, etc. They also have a 2 year warranty.

Realistically, a tent like this retails for $1900. Yes there are other tents for cheaper, but I think you will be hard pressed to find a tent with these components at this price anywhere.

If you'd like to see some of their factory pics or closeups of tent quality, please let me know, and I'll pm or email them.

These quoted prices do not live forever - the company has the right to change the quote after 30 days, and I'm in week 3 now. If I don't get close to the 9 indications by the end of this week, I'm going to call it a bust and move on with life until the next opportunity presents.

Again, I also don't mind grabbing a few and helping get them delivered to you within reason.

Damn, are they shipping it in a welded steel frame?
most RTTs are around 95-125lb by themselves but that's almost another 100lbs on what I imagine being a simple wooden crate.. what is the zip for where the tents will be received?

Just going by what the manufacturer is saying. I think the zip is 21227.

One last bump, and it'll be dead after that.

If you were already in the market for a high quality RTT, you're not going to beat this. A lot of people pointed me to the group buy on Tacoma world being so much cheaper. I agree that it's cheaper, but it also has 5/8th poles, plastic joints, 280g fabric, etc.
I've also been assured that the tents I've priced include labor from their highest skilled workers, quality control checks, etc.

Anyway, let me know. Also, probably the best option would just be to pickup in the port warehouse. But I can still help move a couple extra tents if needed.

They do offer larger tents as well, but without a bulk order, they will be more expensive. It'll still be cheaper than buying in the US, and you'll still save on freight because it's a part of a larger group, but the tent itself will cost more to make.

Even if this GB doesn't work out. If we turn it into a serious "interest in buying discounted high quality RTTs", then I can just do a bulk order when the real interest is here.

It also seems like people are skeptical of the quality, so if I can arrange it for a reasonable price, I may have a sample imported in so you all can see an actual tent delivered. If anyone doesn't mind paying a little bit more, I can always do an order for less than 10 if you're interested. My guess is that would end up being between 11-1200 max.
