Very cool. Is that thing DI? I'm interested to hear how dirty it runs if so.

It's a PSA KS47. It's about the same size as a standard 556 AR.

Yes, it's DI, just like the CMMG Mutant (which is friggin huge at the size of a 308 AR), and runs dirty. The CMMG works fine, despite that--I can't imagine this would be any different. I mounted a PRO onto it and took it out to the range where it was getting 2.5" groups at 50 yards, which is acceptable for garbage Tula ammo. I think I shot about 100 rounds through it, and it wasn't much dirtier than a DI 556 AR using cheap ammo.

This^ have been thinking about a 629 or Redhawk for woods gun eventually. I am slowly stepping up in caliber, started with 9mm, now 45ACP...it's only a matter of time:laser:

Just noticed this thread.

Big shooter here, started at 7 years old (much older now). I do a bunch of competitive shooting and such. Living in MA most of my life has meant it's a challenge recently.

Did a BUG (Back Up Gun) shoot this past Saturday, used my G26.

I went ahead and ordered that safariland holster linked above. we will see how it works. it may yet be a bit more bulky than im wanting but I have to start somewhere.
without being able to put my hands on them, its hard to know

well, its been a few weeks now. figured I would stop in and let you know, this thing is badass. I love it. its actually more compact than what I was using before.
and it does not move. with the other one, it seems like I was adjusting it on my belt often, not at all with this one.

S&W will still be on every firearm they make, just the parent company changing it's name. The Smith and Wesson brand is WAY TOO VALUABLE to change the names of the firearm manufacturer.

They're just acquiring more and more companies that do other stuff, like knives and hand cuffs, so they are changing the parent company name.

DO get the 629 though, you don't need a reason other than it's a great wheel gun and 'Merica!

I got myself an after-election gift.

I've been needing a new bolt gun for some time, but just keep buying AR's, pistols, SMG's and scopes/sights, mags, accessories- etc...

A New Remington 700 .308 SPS Tactical is what I decided to get. I had one for a while but gave it to a cousin as a gift who needed a hunting rifle, but always wanted another.

I ordered an extra threaded 24" 5R barrel to go along with it (Gotta pick a new can out for it) and a Magpul Hunter Stock w/Bottom metal, a bunch of mags and a vortex viper PST scope & rings.

Don't bet your life on bottom budget. You can't go wrong with M&P, Glock, H&K VP series. All are around $500-$600 and you'll never question reliability. I'd rather spend a little more now to make sure it's going to do it's job than save a few dollars in the long run. Just my .02 cents.
