Some fast numbers. All bullet weight (150gr) velocity 3000fps, atmospheric, sight height, and zero data (100yds) are the same. I had to run .308 and under to get equal bullet weights. Happy to run any specific data you would like. This is just math not the reality of being able to find the ammo in the caliber you choose. In reality the 30 cal gives up very little until past 500yds and if people were honest how much shooting do they do past 500?

Personally I don't do one gun as there are calibers that work better for many different situations. That being said if it was one caliber it would be 30-06 with a 180 Partition bullet.

If you're looking for a flat shooter, the 7mm Rem Mag is an excellent choice. I've had this Remington 700 BDL 7mm Rem Mag for over 35 years. It sits on a McMillan stock with Atlas Bipod and Leupold scope.

The 7mm Rem Mag is a great caliber with lots of factory ammo available. Also lots and lots of used rifles around. Find a Savage 116 or a Browning A/X Bolt in SS and your set. The 160gr bullet is a perfect do all for big game, and 3000fps is easily attainable with a 24" barrel. Load it with 120gr Ballistic Tips at 3300fps for Ground Hogs and coyotes.

Shot many and an awesome choice.. I stated a .308 originally mainly because I limited my weapon systems to just that..a weapon system w/modularity...use to have a lot of different calibers bust now I stick to NATO rounds...for my reasons and I'm surgical w/em

Back to 7mm Mag, A badazz thumper for sure..add good glass and reach out...

Just finished this build. Definitely one of my favorite builds so far and one I'll keep for a long time.

Looking good, I like the color and lots of Keymod. BCM parts are a good choice too, well done.

I have one. For as inexpensive as it is, and the fact people rag on Taurus, its a pretty good little gun. Well except for the stupid long trigger pull. Fairly compact, a double stack 9, add in adjustable sights and an external safety if you want to use it. It doesn't have the aftermarket support as many other guns do but, well, so it goes sometimes.

I'm happy with mine, I don't carry it,, but it is often in my rig, and a big plus is that you can also use a P226/Mecgar highcap mag for a little extra umph.

Now the trigger, the trigger pull is very long, not actually heavy just long. It breaks very close to the rear of the trigger guard near the grip. Kinda hard to explain or maybe its me but it also feels like it breaks at an upward angle.?

I wont sell mine.

It's the RMR06 and it works great! FNX comes with silencer/night sights and it lines up perfect. No problem hitting a 12" gong at 70 yards every shot.

Two more toys they have been keeping me from spending my funds on the 4Runner. Top is a Noveske 300blk that I built with a 10.5 barrel, So fun to shoot and very very quiet.

Thanks for the info. Watched a video of the trigger pull, so it makes sence.

Very nice! I'm looking at the Rem 700 Long Range to start with and go from there at this second. Glass will most likely be the Leo Mk4. Call it good at that. That will be a 1,000 yard gun all day long once the trigger is fixed. I'm already scouting places to kill my local Coyoty population. They are thick as hell around this place and get into everything. About every Farmer around will almost pay you to kill them.

Couple questions come to mind. Why the MK4 and not the VX6 in the Leupold. For that kind of money why not go with NF, Valdata, et all? The new Rem X triggers SUCK BALLS compared to the old ones for adjustability. If you get lucky it will work out....what lb are you wanting. Probably better to put a Timney on it.

Trying my hand on a little 80% lower. Practiced on polymer first. Need to get a lpk and receiver extension to test it out.
