So after a couple months of deliberation and few weeks of tracking down the exact vehicle I wanted, I finally picked up my 4R today. Ended up with a 2016 Trail Premium KDSS. I started after a TRD Pro but decided against it as the upgrades aren't worth the premium for me. I still wanted the terrain management and crawl control so the SR5 was out. I am coming from a 2013 Tacoma so this is familiar territory but much nicer than the Tacoma. I've been browsing here for a bit and appreciate all of the information and ideas. Time to start working on my project list. Look forward to learning and contributing to the forum. Enough talking and more pictures!

Welcome....great choice on the Trail. I agree with the markup of the Pro, it just doesn't make sense unless you do have deep pockets of course! :)
 
Nice find. That or a 2017 TRD ORP is exactly what I'm looking for. Was it used or a 2016 leftover? Wish I could find super white in my area.

What mods do you have planned?
 
Great looking Trail. I also was looking at Pro's but decided to put extra money in upgrades and got a 16 Trail no KDSS. Money saved is going to be very helpful with my mod list. Looking forward to watching the build.

I think that's a good plan. Pros are unique and more exclusive but maybe not the best choice if you're going to mod anyways. You have more flexibility to do exactly what you want. Good luck!

It is a '16 that was left over. My dealer traded for it with a dealer 500 miles away bc there was notice closer that met my requirements. Lol. I have done some things already (N-Fab Bars, Laminx Yellow Fog Covers, Logo/Emblem Overlays, custom Trail emblems and Plasti Dip on roof racks, front and rear balances and on the front bumper. Looks much more aggressive and it's only been 2 weeks. Coming soon is powder coating wheels, swapping for AT tires, HIDs and small lift. Looking forward to the process!

Did you add that pipe tip or it came with the Premium. I have the premium in Canada and I do not have that tip...

It was an option added by the dealer. Haven't totally decided if I like it or not yet. Ha
