Offroad/Driving lights

ya theres plenty of room for lights i got them big 170s on the stock bumper cant go wrong with a set of hella 700ff though

I'm running an HID kit in my low beams (didn't get the hi/low kit) so mounting like the 520's or the 968's to the bumper would be good. I just really wanted some lights on the rack.

Not sure what color your truck is, but if you have a black one or black trim, I have always liked Hella Black Magic lights. They should be thin enough to mount anywhere.
Here's a set on Amazon with pics

Hey blcktpgsr, does having 6 piaas drain a lot from the battery? BTW your rig is amazing.

I don't know how old my battery is but everytime I start the truck it fires right away even after having all the lights on for a period of time. I have the PIAA's power source coming from the ignition via a relay using add-a-circuit. Works great.

KC must not be too popular, they came with mine so...
They are very bright, but too focused for my taste, great for blinding deer 2 miles off though. :)

im old school... good old KC's are for me... i have the longrange on a seperate swithch so I have total control... next might be some piaa's in the bumper.

buy some hella 500's or 700's and put an hid kit from ddmtuning.com in em. I did this to some hella 700's and they are actually bright enough

KC Daylighters for me

I went went the KC's as well on my rig. Mounted them to the Shrockworks bumper, I painted them black too so they would match.

I want to get some more lights, I am in the process of getting new fog lights, and hopefully adding a light bar on top w/4 more. Not sure the type yet, likely PIAA or KC's up there. Will have to add another battery to make this happen.

So Far I think I like the IPF 968's and those black Hellas Elton found. I'm just a little nervous about mounting them to the stock bumper.

Another question.....what does everyone recommend for the roof rack as far as a spot light type of light? Something to reach farther than the 968's like I believe brian2sun mentioned.

can you guys see a major diff between these?? it looks like the more expensive ones have a different backing design and are a bit thicker, but the less expensive ones come with a wiring kit and covers?

the cool thing about the lightforce's is that you can adjust the beam on the fly like a mag light and swap out filters for different conditions. I know you mentioned you don't want to spend $500+ for the lights but if you buy the lights and make your own harnesses, you are well under the $500 mark.

As an owner of both Piaa 520's and LF 140's, i prefer the LF's.

And if you're planning to mount lights directly to the bumper, LF's are much lighter so it will decrease vibration.

Here is my setup and the light output:

I really like the LF's as well, especially the 170's.....but I just dont think they'll fit well on a stock 97 bumper. They're really deep.

i had 170s on the stock bumper with little extension tabs for a few months ... also wal mart has hella 500s
