I'm pretty much in the same situation as you. I've been doing a lot of reading and from what I've seen either the Hella 500s or 700s with an HID upgrade will do the trick.
The Lightforce and PIAA are a little too expensive for my taste. The Lightforces are really strong though. I also don't know if the 700s have a clear cover to protect the lenses.

Well i really want to mount lights to the roof rack. Not gonna lie......its half the reason i got one lol. Im already running hids in my regular head lamps and if i got two sets of the hella 500's with hids that's a total of 3 kits. Isn't that alot of draw on the battery? Anyone ever used a distribution block like they do it in car audio with like two sets of 8 gauge to the block then one 4 gauge going to the battery? Just a thought.

Do you want to use these offroad or on road?
You can't use rack lights on paved roads. HIDs draw less current than regular light bulbs.

The IPFs are great for that. And they come with the whole wiring loom to turn on/off automatically with your high beams. IPF Switch on = highs and IPFs, switch off = just highs.

Yeah I'm thinking of getting the 968's for the bumper and then seeing if I can get two sets of the 500ff's for the rack. As dumb as it sounds, walmart carries them :banana:.....so I'm going to see if I can do a test fit on the rack before I buy them. Probably just get two sets of hids from DDM and use those in the hellas.

IMO just get the LF 240's or 170's an be done with it. You'll know you have the best lights period. HID for on highway use its not a good idea because flipping them on and off is bad for the bulbs.

I have a set of Hella 500's on my bumper and love em. I messed up the other day when I was off roading and accidently hit the on switch. Since it was daytime and I was watching the road I didn't notice the lights were on.
Wouldn't have been a problem except I had the plastic covers on them and they overheated. When I realized the lights were on and turned them off one lens was cracked but the light still works fine. :crybaby:

Thats what I'm thinking. They come with 55w bulbs so I will see about replacing them with 100w, still not sure on the hid kit. Going to see if I can do a test fit tomorrow on the 500's. Also looking at the hella ff75's for rear lights to blind people when the ride your ass....I mean to see better when backing up.
