Offroading in New Mexico

Finally took my 4Runner wheeling the other day. A fellow firefighter and I went to McGaffey (in the Cibola National Forest) for a day of fun. Dave took his '84 CJ7 and I took my 4Runner. This was my first trip with the 4Runner, and my first real four wheeling trip in New Mexico. McGaffey is only a few miles outside of the crappy town I live in, but what a wonderful difference those few miles make! McGaffey is a beautiful area with tons of trails. We explored the area that Dave hunts and encountered everything from mud to rock crawling. The trails we explored were pretty mild compared to what a lot of you wheel, but we found plenty to keep us entertained! I'd never done ANY rock crawling before, so even the small stuff seemed BIG to me! The only damage done was a broken hub on the CJ. The 4Runner came through like a champ! We had a blast. I enjoyed it so much I took my kids back the next day!

Here are a few pics from our trip. I've got tons, but most are of the CJ since I was taking the pics! BTW, I'm trying to post multiple pics from a different site. I've never done this before and could screw it up. So, if the pics don't come out, I'll repost later!

EDIT

I guess I didn't do it right, cuz the pics didn't show up. Oh well, maybe I'll try another time. For now here is the link to the pics http://www.flickr.com/photos/fyrfytr/.
