oh Cra_ !!!!!!!! the 3vze does it again

OK so i want to share my story and see if anybody has an ideas and suggestions

so my womans 95 t4r i bought back in Jan it had a blown HG I had the heads

machined etc changed all the crap you should change. Well after changing all

that and running fine for bout a month the cam sprockets came loose and broke

the cam pins im glad its not an interference engine needless to say. Well

when this happend she took it upon herself to have a quote on quote

professional fix it LOL!!!!!!!! so she got the truck back from the shop and it

ran fine. Just as it had before right after i did the HG well she drove it for bout

2000 miles and well needless to say the cam sprockets came loose again!!!

and broke the cam pins again!! so i guess im wondering if I should try buying

new cams or just getting a used motor for the time being while i rebuild this

one. Or if somebody has another good idea I would really love to hear it Thanks!!!!!:bravo:

Dam. Ive never had a cam gear come loose! Fix the current motor and get some locktite on those bolts!!

i thought about a reman engine but i also think i could get a used have all the extera components and still be able to rebuild one for bout the same price

yeah i remember the first time it happened i couldn't find anything on here about it or on yota tec i guess i have the super luck :lol:

You cant bring it back to the "professional" and have them look it over? Those sprockets should never come loose.

What ever you do, don't but anything from APR Auto Care aka toyotacarparts.com I had a very bad experience with this company and they will not stand behind their stuff as they claim. I purchased a 3.0 from them that lasted 21k miles and blew up. They claimed I overheated the engine and it would not be covered under warranty. Sad thing about this whole deal was this was the third engine they had sent me so they knew they had problems. I asked for my money back after the first problem and they wouldn't return it. I went through two more engines before I got the one that blew up. Their customer service SUCKS !!! also. I ended up buying a Jasper and wished I had done that from the start.

I like jasper. Only offer reman'ed, not rebuilt. Offer good warrenties. A bit pricier, but worth it.
