A waste of $$ IMO. What are you going to do if you get a "bad" report, tear engine down? Only good for fuel dilution and antifreeze IMO unless you are trying to push the limits of oil change interval to over 10K miles and then what you save doing that you spend on oil analysis.
Oil analysis is for the trucking industry where big fleets can save big $$ playing with oils, intervals, etc.

I mean the analysis similar in price of 5L of oil.. it's not expensive, but I kind of agree.. what do you do if the results are bad? I guess depending on what it is some people could consider tearing it apart and rebuilding (if for instance there are signs of worn rod bearings or something) that certainly would be the cheaper option than having your engine seize up on you (although the likely hood of being able to gauge the life expectancy even with the report would be very difficult)
I've used their lab one time and it on a 2013 FRS that I rebuilt the motor on, and they were notorious for getting clocked with loose silicone/gasket from the front cover, so after 700 miles I had them run a test to evaluate the silicone contents in the oil which came back below acceptable average. More for a piece of mind.. in my case, if I had elevated silicone gasket contents, you better believe it would have come right back out lol. but we're also talking a 20k mile sports engine, vs our 200k mile average rigs.

I'm one of those nerds that does get an analysis about every 4th oil change. At one time, you could buy the kits in bulk from Blackstone at a very reasonable price, especially if you did a group buy so it wasn't expensive to have the analysis performed. I like them for early detection of problems as I would much rather just replace a head gasket rather than a warped head because the blown head gasket wasn't attended to at the earliest stages but that's just me. I've also found that it is a great selling tool when moving the vehicle on to a new owner. In normal markets, I've often gotten $1,000 more for a vehicle because of maintenance records and oil analysis so I look at it as an investment.
