So I just bought a 98 with 220k on it and a fresh engine with about 40k miles on it. When I pulled the intake off to tighten the valve cover bolts a small amount of brown goopy oil and what appeared to be water spewed out of it. The coolant levels are fine, the oil looks good, and it doesn't over heat. I'm just curious as to what could have contributed to this, I searched the forums and haven't been able to pinpoint another situation that fit my description so any input helps. Thank you!

where exactly did it come from? also what do u mean by a small amount? a tea spoon? table spoon? could it be condensation and pcv oil meeting together in the intake?
It was possibly a small cups worth that was built up between the air box and throttle. After looking inside there was also more of this brown goopy buildup inside, mostly in the little U shaped piece that comes off the intake right at the air box. Not sure what pcv is exactly.
