Oil Changing help

I'm trying to change oil for my 04 V8 4runner and it looks really tight on the bottom of the car. I have a hard time finding the oil filter because it's all covered up. How do you go on about to change the oil for this?

Take the front skid plate off, 4 bolts. Then it is easy to change the filter. Take off the big plastic cover on the rear part of the front skid to gian access to the oil drain plug.

Do you have to take off the plastic cover? I thought you could access it without taking it off...
