Oil Filter Cap Wrench??

Does anyone make an oil filter cap wrench that's a GOOD fit to the factory Toyota oil filter?

BTW, my yota is a 2008 Sport V8 2WD.

Thanks,
Kevin

I use a claw type wrench. It attaches to a ratchet and clamps down when loosening.

Avoid the stealership for tools.
Here's what I use. They are available, cheap, in various standard sizes. Check at some auto parts stores (got this at Canadian Tire up here.)

My strap wrench works just fine even though I have a number of different size cap wrenches.

If you're getting the "cup" style oil filter wrench, bring your own filter. With my Mazda, I didn't have my OEM filter on hand, so I used a FRAM replacement at the auto parts store, the wrench did not work when I got home. Needless to say, some after market filter brands are not the same diameter as the OEM filter.

I have a Craftsman adjustable claw one just like the one rook posted. The only negative about an adjustable wrench is it requires two hands, one holding the wrench until the claws get a "bite" on the filter. On the bright side, it'll be the last oil filter wrench you'll need to buy.

I have found this on youtube.
Universal and easy to use wrench.
Unfortunately I could not find this tool online in USA.

Besides all my other cars and my current '08 Sport, I've owned 2nd gen and 3rd gen 4Runners. I never needed anything more than the basic strap wrench but with a pivoting arm. I think you guyz are getting a bit too "tool happy"!

As a follow-up....

.....I found a cap wrench at Advance Auto Parts. It's a perfect fit for the factory filter that's on the V8.

The brand is Ampro, 73mm, 14 flutes, 3/8" drive.......$5.49.

BTW....the factory SST tool is about 60-70 bucks......ouch!

Thanks again,
Kevin
