Oil filter change on 2000 3.4L

Thanks for this thread! I changed the oil on my 00 yesterday. Took the skid plates off and will never again. They where a pita got get back on. Ended up going through the flap, much easier. I'll be getting a better funnel. Dumped about a cup of oil on the engine.

Once again thanks for the info.

BTW my 3.0 liter 02 RX300, 06 3.3 liter Highlander and 00 3.4 liter 4runner all use the same filter.

Hey, you should've checked here before changing the oil!

I have been the only one who has changed the oil on my 2001 and I have never taken off the skid plate. I like to tighten the bolts on the oil pan on my cars every 100,000 miles. My 2001 now has 167,000 miles. I guess I should take it off at least one time.

Speaking of oil filter, my 2001 4Runner filter also fits my 2004 4Runner 4.0 V6 and a 1991 Previa 2.4 engine. It is kind of nice buying just one type of oil filter.
