Oil & Filter

I just got back from my oil filter supplier. I usually get K&N oil filter from him and I'm buying Mobil 1 at my local Auto Parts store. But this time he was convincing me for Bosch oil filter and AmsOil. I know that he has to sell them and he knows me, so he didn't force me, but was a little bit aggressive describing advantages of Bosch and AmsOil. I read a lot threads here about AmsOil vs. Mobil 1 and most of them saying that they both good, just one better then another in one and another is better in something else. He also told me that Bosch oil filters has better filtration, but a little bit less flow then K&N, but definitely better then OEM Toyotas

I feel Bosch makes an excellent filter. I've used Bosch, Mobil 1, Wix, and Purolator PureONE filters. All great.

AMSOil also has a great filter (I belive made by Hastings).

If you are going to run the oil 10k, change the filter at 5k and top off the oil.

Unless you are using an overized filter or a bypass kit, the filter life will be much shorter than the oil.

That's the question....life of the oil filter. I remember changing oil and filters for 30000km in BMW 525ix in Europe. It seems for that the filter was Bosch and the oil was Mobil 1.
