Oil in TB, vacuum hose?

It's normal. The hose comes from the driver's side valve cover and carries oil vapors.

Install a catch can and be done with it.

Just dealt with this last night, picked up a 10$ breather filter, installed it on the metal side. Got a rubber vacuum hose plug and plugged the intake tube side. Looks good and works so far! No issues. Can post pics of needed

Your filter will probably be saturated with oil in time. I suggest a $15 catch can from eBay, a muffler clamp and 6 feet of 5/16 hose.

Same goes for your PCV system.

I just changed my PCV valve and grommet with OEM parts. Should I replace the hose too? Also, can I tear off the foam piece that covers where the PCV hose attatches to? Not sure what that foam piece is.

every intake system I have dismantled have had some oil in it, it's normal, as long as you don't over-consume oil.

Also, it helps with upper cylinder lubrication, it's just healthy for the engine to have this small amount of oil going into the intake.

Some recent revelations on these. I would highly highly suggest against using a compressor moisture separators/filter.

I have been dealing with oil weeping from various locations, and a rear main seal that wouldn't stay seated. In my process of trying to figure out what my issue was, I noticed that both of mine were 100% clogged. Took them off and tried to blow compressor air through them and couldn't get anything through.

Lesson learned for me. Next time spend a little bit of money and get an oil catch can that is intended for use in a vehicle.
